April- monthly symptom thread

I have been having my first bout of mood swings. Generally I've been surprised at how even-keel my moods have been up until this point, even with all the IVF hormones we were using through week 10.

Now at 11w4d I'm having a really low day with a crying spell in the shower. How have others moods been?

Thankfully my nausea has been lifting though! Still pretty tired most of the time, but that may also be connected with my lower moods.

Re: April- monthly symptom thread

  • Oh man, can relate with the mood swings. I have been so teary for no reason lol.

I’m breaking into 2nd tri territory and am finally getting some energy/appetite back, but I’m crampy as all hell all the time. I probably need to do better about water intake.

  • At 12w3d - nausea isn’t completely gone but it’s improved a good bit. Not throwing up everyday so I’ll take it! Mainly just feel drained and struggling to stay super hydrated. Also dealing with a cold which is not fun.

I’m in week 12 also. I’m managing the nausea with b6 and unisom. I feel like I am slowly getting some energy back. Also struggling to stay hydrated. Still not much appetite. And I have had a cold for 9 days and it has been kicking my butt. I do feel like I’m starting to see the light at the end of the first trimester tunnel though. This will definitely be my last baby.
  • When the symptoms all start to fade... It's great to be productive again but I can't stop the worry that now there's no signs telling me everything is going well.
  • @rainbowbbymom I feel the same way. I have my 12/13 week ultrasound tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous about it but hopefully all will go well and then I can relax a little. It is hard when you just don't know what is happening in there! I know everything is probably fine, but I am just an anxious person I guess. You definitely aren't alone in that feeling.
  • Thanks @rainbowbbymom! Thankfully all went as expected. They didn't end up doing an ultrasound but did listen to the heartbeat, which was nice and strong ☺️ feeling more calm. Hope your next visit is similarly reassuring!
  • I got to listen to the baby's heartbeat today and it was so nice 😭♥️♥️♥️

I know people are mixed about at-home dopplers but I'm still considering getting one.
  • The heartburn, oh the heartburn… I didn’t have this with my others until the 3rd tri but I’m DYING over here.
  • @littlebird515_ try papaya extract. My midwife recommended it as an alternative to tums. It seems to be helping for me
  • I'm on my second cold in two months and I am so annoyed about it.

I'm already prone to nosebleeds, I'm getting them more in pregnancy and blowing my nose more often because of illness is not helping. 😩
