Vomiting and Nauseas to anything 😖

Hi moms💜

I hope you are doing great. I have been having a tough time and today I hit my 13weeks and I experienced the worst day 🫠 I have throw up mostly everything I eat and I am even having trouble to drink any liquid 😖
I have try many different foods and liquids but somehow everything left me with a kind of bitter /metal taste that makes me feel more nauseas…
Everyday something new becomes disgusting and I feel aversion to🫠

My doctor gave me medicine but when I drink them I got huuuge headache:/

does anyone have find something that helps at least to drink something without throwing up??

Re: Vomiting and Nauseas to anything 😖

  • I’ve been happy at least the past few days with Mott’s toddler apple juice. It’s very low in sugar so has some type of flavor (since water tastes nasty to me right now) without anything super strong that makes me sick. My doc gave me a script to get it fluids too which has helped on really bad days.

  • I've been feeling the same. But I've been chewing on icecubes, and it's a real relief! Anything that's cold. Ice water, frozen grapes have been amazing!! I also started protein shakes in the morning. I think it starts my day off good, but I usually end up barfing at the end of the night. 🤕 Hopefully you'll find what works best for you.
  • @cemc90 I’m sorry! I have awful nausea/vomiting too. I’ve found that eating sufficient protein for breakfast is really helpful (even though it sounds horrific…) and often I need to stop eating for the day between 12-2ish or anything else just doesn’t get digested and has to come out before bed.

I have a prescription for zofran to use only in extreme cases in first trimester, because reglan makes me more sick and have tremors.

  • My doctor recommended taking unisom with a B6 supplement and that took almost all of it away along with eating small, high protein snacks and staying hydrated throughout the day.

My nausea was so bad I couldn't get out of bed for days, couldn't eat or drink. I'd already been on B6 and unisom for 2 weeks (try that first!). Ultimately, my doctor prescribed Zofran and I'm functional again. I still feel yucky, but I'm able to work, eat, and drink some.. If nothing else works, all for Zofran
  • That bitter/metallic taste is the worst, and it makes drinking or eating anything feel impossible. I had a really similar experience, and I know how discouraging it is when even water or your go-to safe foods turn on you.
One thing that surprisingly helped me a lot was 'No to Morning Sickness Tea'. I was skeptical at first, but it was super gentle and didn’t trigger my nausea like ginger chews or some other teas did. I sipped it cold through a straw (sometimes with a little honey), and it actually stayed down and soothed my stomach. It might be worth a try if you’re struggling to find anything to tolerate.

Do you have any concerns about taking the Zofran? My dr prescribed it as well. And I have taken it a couple times when it was bad. But I feel like everything I see on line has be back and forth and maybe I should just suffer through.
  • ugh, that sounds rough! have you tried ginger tea or maybe some lemon water? sometimes that helps settle the stomach a bit... 🤞
here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says....
"I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way; it sounds incredibly challenging. Many women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. You might try sipping on ginger tea or ginger ale, as ginger can help with nausea. Additionally, small, frequent sips of clear fluids like broth or electrolyte drinks might be easier to tolerate.
Have you noticed any specific foods or drinks that seem to help, even a little?"
