I'm a big fan of our Hatch Rest and I'm going to get a second one for baby brother! It can be used as a night light and sound machine (lots of light and sound options). Easily turn it on and off and switch between your preset light/sound combos by tapping the top of the Hatch. You can also control it from your phone.
You can also have it play stories. And there's a "time to rise/time to sleep" feature where it gradually changes color/light until it reaches a certain color/light combo that indicates to your child that it's time to get out of bed and start the day or get into bed and go to sleep. I'll use these features when my son is a bit older.
The 2nd generation one is pretty reasonably priced, but I think they have cheaper ones with fewer features, as well! https://a.co/d/2KQpHWL
I have this one on my registry, don't know yet if it's any good but I liked that it had several different uses and I thought it was so cute! https://a.co/d/e4hJqcS
@butterflyhunny I love that it’s a humidifier too!!! That will come in SO handy. Whenever my son has a cold, we run a humidifier in his room over night and it helps him to sleep better. It’s also a super cute machine!
I was so excited to get a Hatch as our “okay to wake light,” but I think I missed the window of it being a good fit. The boys use the touch ring when they are having trouble sleeping (as in after bedtime) or when they get up too early and it keeps them and their brothers awake or it wakes them up. I think I’m going to put it away and try again when the baby comes.
I do love a good sound machine. We also have a travel one that can hang on the car seat or fit in our diaper bag for when we are on the go.
As a side note: We did the Taking Cara Babies infant course with our first and he slept through the night the first day! (He also dropped two feeds at the same time so I got to experience severe clogging, which was not fun.) We have used the methods with all three and they’ve all been great sleepers. She has an instagram that you can check her out, too. I am sure there are a lot of great resources for sleep, but that was the first and only one we’ve used.
