Hello all! I am 12 weeks and 2 days with my 5th. I experienced high blood pressure at the end of my 4th pregnancy 2 years ago and again this past summer. I was diagnosed with chronic hypertension and was put on medication because of it....well, so far this pregnancy has been mentally and physically exhausting as I am experiencing worse blood pressure issues than ever before. I've been to the ER twice for BAD readings and my medication has been changed many times trying to find something that will work. The swelling, headaches etc. Have been so bad already. I am currently on labetalol 400mg 2x a day. We just started this and I'm hoping it will work. My doctors have been wonderful and doing everything they can for me now. I just did a 24 hour urine check and should get results back tomorrow. This will be more of a baseline check they said so they can monitor the rest of the pregnancy and repeat if necessary.
Please, if anyone has gone through an entire pregnancy with hypertension like this...I'd love some advice on how to get through this! Did you ever do the 24 hour urine in the first trimester and if so...did it end in pre eclampsia or just gestational hypertension?
Thank you all so much for listening!
Re: High blood pressure!!
Checked my BP today and it is elevated more than what I’m used to, so I’m adjusting my diet/ exercise routine a bit to try to manage before seeing my doctor.
What were your results?? Successful l hope!
