Baby Names!!

I do not see a discussion here for baby names yet and wanted to see if anyone has thought about it or decided on anything solid. If you have other children, what are their names? I absolutely love hearing name ideas! My fiancé and I were not planning to have a child at this time, but we talked about baby names about a year ago and already have them picked - Carly June for a girl and Ellis Murphy for a boy. His mom and two sisters all have CJ names (his mom is Carla Jean for example) so he wanted to keep that tradition. My last name is Carr - he came up with Carly - and I came up with June because that is my birth month and our favorite season is summer. For boy names, we went to a Google list, and Ellis was the only one out of probably 100+ we agreed we both liked. I came up with Murphy - this is a town in North Carolina we visited and fell in love with. He also ended up proposing to me there so it’s even more perfect! Excited to hear your baby name stories :)

    I love June for a middle name!!! My husband wants to use “May” because that’s the month we met and the month our baby was conceived, but I told him it makes our girl name sound a little too country bumpkin for me 😂
    We’re thinking:
    Ellie/Ella - maybe Rose as a middle name (husband wants Ellie May) 
    Ben/Benjamin - don’t have any boy middle names yet

    Thank you! I love May for the sentimental value though - that’s so cute. I know an Ellie May. I do see what you’re saying about it sounding country but it’s not bad! I really like Ella May. Awww I like Benjamin! I hope you guys can come to an agreement on the girl name if it’s a girl. Is this your first child?

    Yes, our first and possibly only! My husband is set on having only one but we’ll see how he feels (we’ll, how we both feel) after actually having one 😊 I tend to like Ella more than Ellie, I just feel like it feels a little more grown-up, but we’ll figure it out haha

    It is also my first & possibly only! My fiancé has a 14-year-old son & is a good bit older than me, but he doesn’t mind if I want more than one. It’s just, now that I’m actually pregnant, I feel like I may not want more. It’s the weirdest thing because I always thought I would want 2-3. But I’m also having my first earlier than expected.. so who knows!

    The main thing we’ve thought about and talked about is - with just one, we can focus so much more on their interests / activities etc, where if we have two, we might end up with two kids who have different activities all the time and family splitting up to take kids to different things. We would prefer to be able to spend lots of time together as a family and not miss out on things. We’ve seen lots of families with multiple kids in different sports and running around separately to try to get kids to different things lots of nights, and barely seeing each other.

    MY daughter has a friend named Ellie June and another named Ellie Jane. Very cute

    Love all the ideas above! I need name help. There are names I like but I want to make sure they sound good with my other kids names. 

    We have:
    Cash Lawrence (after great uncle & grandpa)
    Lucy Jamez (after grandma & my best friend)

    And we like so far:
    Etta Jo (middle after great grandma)
    Duke (no middle yet)

    Am open to other ideas, just looking for short, masculine boy names and feminine, older girl names😊

    Your two kids’ names are so unique! I loooove Jo for the girl middle name. Charlotte Jo, Heidi Jo, Janice/Janis Jo, Harper Jo, Scarlet Jo. I like Etta, too. Also unique! Short boy names.. Ace, Max, Zack/Zach, Archer, Lance, Shaw, Elam.. I think you have a great start!

    My husband and I have been set on a girl name for a while being Aria Aurora. I’ve always loved Aria as a name, and I love alliteration names. Our boy name took longer but so far is looking like Levi Greyson. Levi after one of our best friends that passed away unexpectedly last year. We’re keeping the name a secret for a while to family and friends, I just get scared of getting conflicting opinions

    We named our only baby boy, Zachary. As what you mentioned,  her dad wanted to keep that name in tradition. Ours has only one name, unlike my FIL whose name is  Earl Zachary. If I have a girl in the future, I would like to name her Nikita.

    We decided to keep the name a secret from friends and family until they're born, but I really love what we've picked. This seems like a safe space to let it slip. :) We've settled on Juniper Kaye for a girl or Maxwell Bradley for a boy. His grandma's name was June and my grandma's middle name was Kaye. His grandpa's name was Max and my dad's name is Bradley. Selfishly, I hope we have a girl lol

    I absolutely love both names!!! My insurance is going to cover a genetic test so I will actually know within the next couple of weeks if we have baby Ellis Murphy or baby Carly June 🥲

    Ada ( pronounced eh-da ), or Avril, if it's a girl

    We are waiting until birth to find out gender. My husband picked the girl name - Averie Mae. And I’m stuck on Rowan Quinn for a boy but he doesn’t really like it so I told him he can pick the middle name and he likes Aurelio… Rowan Aurelio - I really don’t like it hahaha so hopefully he changes his mind in the next couple of weeks.

    I have just given birth to my 10th daughter: name is Zoey Grace. Born on the 19th February 2025. My other daughters are Ava Delilah, Lily Mae, Charlotte Amelia, Rosie Maeve, Tallulah Rose, Alice Faith (Faith was my little preemie cousin, died at 1 hour old), Ivy Paige (Paige is my name, and she was born on my birthday!), Iris Viviean (My middle name, and she was also born on my birhtday (twins)), and Clementine Hazel.
