What are some creative ways to stay hydrated?

Water isn’t settling well with my stomach and I’m scared I’m not staying hydrated enough. I am 5 weeks pregnant as a first time mom so I am over anxious!!!

Re: What are some creative ways to stay hydrated?

  • Eating foods heavy in water content works well for me. Watermelon, pineapple, soups, ect. I also like sugar free popsicles and I seem to be able to eat these even when food and water are hard to get down.

  • Thank you!! Prior to getting pregnant, I used to juice a lot! But I’m so nervous because fruit and veggies can be so dirty! Not sure if I should continue or not! Ahhh so many uncertainties!
  • Staying hydrated during pregnancy can be so hard, especially during the first trimester! One thing that has worked for me is sparkling water. It really helps settle my stomach, but it’s still just water. You could also try juices, water heavy fruits like watermelon, pedialyte popsicles, etc.
  • I am a fan of sparkling water, too! I am a huge Prosecco girl, so it meets two needs - hydration and offering some bubbles to keep things feeling sparkly. Plus, there are so many flavors!
For fruits and juicing, you can always do one of those vinegar/citrus rinses on the produce to clear pesticides and other chemicals that may be lingering!
  • Two words. Pedialyte popsicles lol
  • Try electrolytes! I mix a flavour I like in ice cold water and it helps me stay hydrated. Milk counts as hydration, too, if you can tolerate that better
  • I drink a lot of organic grassfed milk. Water only sits well with me while I'm eating. Apple &Eve fruit punch juice boxes work good with morning sickness.
