MC / Loses

Anyone else pregnant after a previous loss?

im driving myself crazy. I want to keep testing to make myself feel better. But I know that won’t help anything. We had an ectopic earlier this year and multiple losses in the past. Fingers crossed for a rainbow this year

Re: MC / Loses

  • This is pregnancy number 5… all 4 were loses prior (2 chemical, 1 mmc, and 1 we know the chromosome issue of).

This is the first one I’m kinda not as nervous about.. maybe cause I’ve kinda seen all the different ways one can miscarry early. I have gotten blood work done and they are giving me an early ultrasound. Have you had any blood work to check. It does help me feel a little more confident since I barely trusted my very positive test at home haha

I don’t trust kind either. lol even when I can see the line getting darker.

No blood work yet. I’m 4 weeks today. (Or at least I think) my ob is going to to blood work next week. And ultrasound at 8 weeks unless blood work is abnormal. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
  • Best of luck I’m here rooting for you! Glad they ordered you blood work, especially after  loss it’s nice having them keep an extra close eye on us.
  • I am 5w5d today. We have a 9 year old boy and I had a MMC at 10 weeks May 2024. We have been trying for 7 years now.
I am so nervous and driving myself crazy. My hcg was 294 at 4w5d but my OB is not wanting to recheck it as he says it positive. By progesterone was 12.5 so he put me on progesterone vaginally daily through 12 weeks. He said with my hx of difficulty getting pregnant, i had a SCH at 9w with my son and now a MMC he wanted my progesterone at 15.
I have researched so much on what else I can do but this waiting is miserable.
My OB will not do an ultrasound until 10w also. I don't have anyone to talk to as we are waiting to tell family until 12w as well.
  • I just found out I’m pregnant today after a Mac at 13 weeks in September. I want to be happy but am so nervous this one isn’t going to stick. My doctors office offered me earlier testing this time around (my first ultrasound was 13 weeks last time!) but i’m too early even for that still. Having a hard time not obsessing

Have you thought about switching OBs? I’ve called around a bit. And in our area some will some won’t. But most will do repeat betas to see how it’s progressing

I have thought about it but I loved him with my son. My SIL recommended the same with my MMC as he refused to do more than 1 beta then as well.
  • I just had a MMC and d&c in November and got my positive test pretty much my first cycle back. So it’s definitely feeling scary and hard to feel excited.
  • @krg152425 sometimes if you ask them to document it in your chart that they’re refusing specific care that you’re asking for, they will acquiesce. I’ve realized you have to advocate HARD for yourself sometimes with doctors. To us, this is one single important pregnancy. To doctors, we are one of 10-20 patients they see each day, and sometimes they can become unintentionally more ‘routine’ in their approach.

I’ve had 4 MCs and have 3 living kiddos. I’m slightly nervous for this pregnancy, and tentatively excited. Trying to remain calm and hopeful!

  • Anyone feel like they’re showing earlier this time around? I know it’s mostly bloat, but I also feel like my body was so recently pregnant it’s like “oh yeah I know what to do” 😂
  • I’m the opposite. My last pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) I had so much bloat that looked pregnant so early. This time not really… biggest difference is I’m working out regularly still so not sure if that’s playing a factor
  • I ended up calling this last week and requested an additional beta hcg. At 6w5d it was 15539 and at 4w4d it was 294. Things are looking good per Dr. I am on progesterone daily along with aspirin 81mg. They think last MC was related to clotting issue.
I still have 2 weeks from tomorrow until my first ultrasound and I feel so nervous. This last week for a few days I just did not feel pregnant which happened my last MC and I was freaking out. But starting Thurs nausea, bloating, breast tenderness, cravings and appetite have shown otherwise.

I feel I am just over thinking everything. I also have ADHD and stopped my medication the day I tested positive so things are a little hectic right now also.
  • @krg152425 I’m so glad things are going good level wise :) I’m trying to ignore my symptoms because whenever they decrease a little I do freak out some. I’m also in progesterone and aspirin so nice to see I’m onto the only one.

Best of luck. Here for ya I know it can be so rough especially after a loss
  • @kas0211 Yes good to know I am not alone as well!
How are things going for you?
  • @krg152425 so far all good. I was supposed to have a viability scan yesterday but the Dr was out sick so I go in Thursday instead. Symptoms still mild which is both good but bad as it makes me anxious but I feel we all can relate on the anxious part.
  • @kas0211 I feel that so much! Non symptoms days freak me out so much. Good luck at your scan!
  • So I feel like this thread is the best to talk certain stuff… but slight TW not perfect scan.
had my first scan today I’m measuring 6 weeks 3 days but should be 6 weeks 6 days… not crazy difference but not perfect. Also no heartbeat detected. Dr did not seem concerned but still makes me nervous as my last MC they never grew past 6 weeks 3 days. I go back in 10 days so just a little anxious but trying to remind myself it’s still very early
  • @kas0211 I’m sorry, that sounds so stressful! Hopefully it was just too early and at the next scan everything will be clear 🤞 sending positive thoughts!!
  • My doctor was very positive about it. I’m just very anxious of course about it. The scan was mainly to just confirm I was pregnant and  it was in the appropriate spot. So hopefully next scan will go a little better.
  • @kas0211 I’m sorry, that sounds really stressful. Sending lots of positive vibes  <3
  • @kas0211 sending lots of love and good vibes your way!

I was nervous the other day because I didn’t have many symptoms, and now for the last 3 days I’ve just had mild lingering nausea all day and it’s driving me nuts. My parents also visit on Sunday for a week and I was hoping to not tell them yet. I haven’t told them about my 4 losses (they’re just not my support people, etc. It’s complicated) So I’m hoping I can somehow hide the nausea this week.

  • @kas0211 Prayers everything is okay! Good vibes your way!
  • Ok I need your ladies honest opinion. I love my OBGYN he was phenomenal when I had my son 9 years ago in which I had Gestational Diabetes. He additionally figured out I cannot tolerate to progesterone in birth control.
My MMC last May I felt pretty disappointed honestly. He refused to draw an hcg telling me to go to my PCP. I then called and confirmed with them they set up my first office informational at 7w and first ultrasound at 10w. At the 10w ultrasound we found no heartbeat and baby was only measuring 9w. I ended doing a D&C per his recommendation. We also discussed my difficulty getting pregnant which he did not really seem concerned.
This pregnancy they drew my hcg when I called at 4w4d. I was started on progesterone based on levels not where he wanted them. 2 weeks later I called with light spotting and cramps, they drew hcg and said all was fine. Last Friday I had moderate bright red bleeding with lower abd pain. He told me to come in for hcg and sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound. The only information I got at ultrasound was heartbeat 150, no pictures and they can't tell me anything else.
It's not Monday at 9:45am and still nothing from the Dr.

Should I look into changing? Am I being paranoid?
  • Do they typically do ultrasounds at your clinic? Odd they would send you to the ER. Even if it was a miscarriage there isn’t much they can do unless your bleeding was out of control. I guess take the good news of you know theres a heartbeat. However if you aren’t feeling comfortable with where you’re at and they are just sending you to the ER which is notorious for not giving good information it might be worth checking on another place. My only thing disliked with changing places was it was really hard for me to have places keep my history straight
  • @krg152425 I'm so sorry you aren't having a good experience. I think if you are unhappy, it's better to look into switching now than waiting until later.

When they draw your hcg, are they doing a repeat draw 48 hrs later? Or just one and saying "you're good"?

When I had my loss in Nov, I called my dr bc I was having spotting and then bright red bleeding. They advised I go to the ER. In the end they never even did an ultrasound at the ER, just a blood draw and then I returned to the lab 2 days later to recheck my levels. I was a little frustrated bc my dr could have just sent in orders to the lab for me to get my bloodwork done and saved me hours (and $$$) at the ER. But overall I've been happy with how they have treated me during all of my pregnancies thus far--if I was having any doubts, I would change in a heartbeat
  • My 2 cents would be find another provider if that’s an option. A fresh start could be good with all you have gone through, and the way most hospitals work you aren’t guaranteed to have your Dr deliver anyway unless it’s a scheduled C section.
  • @kas0211 I have always had my ultrasound in his office and no where else. He always shows me every thing and explains everything as well. The hospital they honestly showed me once so I could see baby and the heart beating. They did an abdominal then vaginal ultrasound which lasted 25 minutes. I went to the ER at 10w with my son and had the SCH which they only completed a dappled and my OB was furious had me come in immediately the following day. That's why I am struggling with the lack of attention to this one.

@nsk489 They have never redrawn always just told me you are good, no even specific numbers either. At 4w4d it was 294, 6w5d 15,000 and last Friday at 7w4d 52,000. Yes I am so nervous specially with my hx.

@yogamama2 There is a great local physician but she does not do deliveries. My current is 1 of the 2 at the hospital who deliver. I can go across state line which is same distance in which they have an amazing OB there as well but I have not heard good things about the hospital.

Also I found out he is not taking any new patients his partner in office is. Not sure if he is wanting to decrease loaf or focus more on the hospital side of things.
I have honestly thought about Midwife and having at home but my husband is very against it with scares of complications. I had none with my son, delivery was amazing.
  • Oh and update they finally called me at 1:15pm today. Said everything is fine no issues seen and hcg was 52,000 so more than likely cervix irritation (my husband works away so no intercourse for 4 days before bleeding), cont my progesterone, no intercourse until he releases me. I see him next Monday for 9w ultrasound in his office.
  • Had 1st ultrasound Monday at 9w0d. It went great!!! Heartbeat 173, placenta working great and in great placement. Cervix looked great, no notable reason why I would be bleeding. They did find a goofball sized cyst on my left ovary. All in all Dr was very happy.
  • TW loss

just went in for a viability scan at 8+4 and there was no heartbeat. :( sorry to be leaving the group, wishing you all the best!

Hello-I had a miscarriage over Martin Luther King Junior Weekend. I was about 6 weeks. It was very hard, and I don't wish that experience on anybody. I was able to immediately get pregnant again though! So I'm in the October 2025 Babies community group instead of this one. EDD is 10/30/25 <3
  • @hollyh5 congratulations on your rainbow baby! Our first (DS, now 8 years old) was conceived the month after a MC too 💜
