Insomnia?

Anyone else suffering from insomnia? I’m already so exhausted anyway, and I take unisom to help me sleep & combat nausea but even that isn’t helping. Any tips?

Re: Insomnia?

  • I haven't been having trouble falling asleep but I have been waking up throughout the night and then can't fall back asleep for hours at a time 🫠 no tips, I don't remember it being like this for me the first 2 times!

  • @nsk489 I’m the same way I fall asleep easily because I’m so exhausted but then I wake up for sometimes a couple hours in the middle of the night. I have had this off and on each previous pregnancy so you would think I would have if figured out my now lol

This is definitely happening to me! Tougher to want to get up to the bathroom so many times throughout the night knowing I may not be able
    to go back to sleep.
  • If you aren’t already taking unisom I highly recommend trying it. I take a 1/2 tab about an hour before bed and it has really helped in the past. I think maybe my body is used to it now, might try Benadryl tonight haha.
  • Happening to me as well! I fall asleep immediately and then always wake up around 12:30am to pee and have a snack, then again around 3:30/4am so I pee and have another snack and then wake up for good around 6:30am until I wake my toddler up around 7:30am. I’ve forced myself to stop napping during the day because I always wake up super nauseous and feel worse than before I napped, which makes it easy for me to fall asleep earlier at night. It sucks. Has anyone tried magnesium so help with sleep?! I’m curious if it works or how it has worked for people.
  • I took the Calm magnesium all my first pregnancy and I’m taking the Needed sleep support this time. I’m sure it’s helping some, I just think bad nights happen sometimes with the hormones.
**update I switched unisom for Benadryl last night and slept much better so I think my body is just used to the unisom and it’s less effective. I plan to eventually wean off all sleep aids but for now whatever helps 😅
  • On the other hand I have GREAT naps. Even when I don’t feel tired and feel energized I lay down and wake up an hour later feeling great. First tri has given me my best naps ever 😂
  • I am 15 wks pregnant and have worst insomnia. It has been so hard to sleep at night and during the day, I can't take naps because of office job. During my last appointment, OB recommended me unisom, b6 and valerian deep sleep tea. Other than medicines, I preferred the tea and from the last week, I've been taking it before bed and it is helping me to sleep for the whole NIGHT.
