𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? I'm coming down with a cold. My son was sick with one last week, so I've been bracing myself. The last time he had a bad cold I didn't end up getting sick, and I knew I wouldn't dodge that bullet twice

Other than that I'm feeling good though. The pregnancy pillow has been helping with sleep. Starting to feel some movement, though not consistently yet. Still feels wild to me that we'll have a newborn in 5 short months...

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: We are getting lots of snow here in New England and I don't like it. It's also cold, so it's icy and I get so nervous about slipping and falling! The one good thing about it is my son loves to play in the snow and he looks SO dang cute in his snow pants/winter gear!!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? I think I pushed it a little too hard going to a convention on Saturday so I'm definitely exhausted and sore, but otherwise really good.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rant - I'm so annoyed about how insurance works (or doesn't work would be more accurate lol), it feels like they make things purposely confusing and no one can seem to give a straight answer to my questions. I'm doing the AFP blood test soon and just hoping I'm not going to get charged an insane amount, ugh!

Rave - it's really sweet how excited people seem to get when I've been telling them I'm pregnant, even people I don't know that well 🥰

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: anyone else having more vivid/memorable dreams than usual? I normally rarely remember mine, but lately I have been and in way more detail.

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you more of an extrovert or an introvert? Definitely extroverted, but I learned I do have limits to wanting to be around people and the thousands at the convention I went to this weekend was definitely was too much lol!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Emotionally exhausted, and regular exhausted lol. It’s been a stressful few weeks and I feel like it’s draining me so much more.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rave - We scheduled our anatomy scan for March 3rd and we’re so excited! It’s been way too long since we’ve been able to see the little one. His heartbeat is still going strong which takes a lot of anxiety away. No rants.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Does anyone else feel like their belly button is stretching? It started for me this afternoon, I have a fairly deep belly button and when I move it feels like a sharp pain radiating from my belly and it hurts.

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you more of an extrovert or an introvert? Introverted big time lol. I can be extroverted when I have to (like at work) but in my personal life I’m much more of a homebody and like to spend time with a minimal amount of people.

I probably lean more towards extroverted but I dread going to social gatherings until I’m actually there. Once I’m there I’m fine and can vibe with most people easily without feeling exhausted.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? We traveled to a warm location last week for a babymoon. I thought I was just humid from being there and the sunscreen so I was showering twice per day. Turns out I'm just having hot flashes and cold sweats! Trying to mitigate it the best I can without drying out my skin and still saying warm enough (for the cold spells) in these frigid Midwest temps. Anyone else experiencing this? Grateful I had bought some cotton maternity leggings from Old Navy, as I am down to only a few sweats that fit.

My husband was a champ when I was, and for that I am grateful! Rants - also have dry skin on my arms and legs .. not sure if it is just from all the mineral sunscreen or heat rash from the sweating. Can't wait to have my OB take a look at it Friday at my appt.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Is anyone finding any places that have strollers to test out in person? My Google search is saying Nordstrom has some, but I need to call and confirm.

@butterflyhunny I did my AFP testing today. Didn't even consider the cost/if it wouldn't be covered. Sending prayers there is some assistance. While my insurance paid the NIPT, I liked that Natera had a financial assistance program built into the testing.

@dogmamacita21 I'm fairly certain my insurance isn't covering the NIPT at all (still waiting to hear) so yes I'm very thankful I qualified for a lower price! Everything I could find for AFP seems like it'll be reasonable, I just wish it wasn't a guessing game.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Super excited to be feeling movement over the last couple weeks! I wasn’t expecting it so soon since I found out at the NT scan that I have an anterior placenta, but it’s been pretty regular and unmistakable especially in the last week or so.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Anyone else’s OB/midwife practice not allow anatomy scans before 20+2? I have mine scheduled for next Friday when I’ll be 20+3, but I originally tried scheduling it for Monday when it would be easier for my husband to take off work, and was pretty surprised to find that they don’t do them before 20+2. I was under the impression that any time after 18/19 weeks is pretty standard.

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you more of an extrovert or an introvert? I used to think I was an introvert because I’m so shy, but after being with my truly introverted husband for a decade, I’ve realized I’m just a shy, quiet extrovert and have a much greater capacity for social interaction and become more energized by it than I thought lol.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: I’m in Canada and will ask my OB about it but I’m curious if anyone has (or plans to) wear their own gown for the birth process? I’m assuming they’ll say no for sanitization reasons but here’s hoping!

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you more of an extrovert or an introvert? Introvert for sure, I get my energy from self care and quiet time. I am quite outgoing with my friends and family that I’m comfortable with, though.

I would love to wear my own, too, but I am curious is it just going to end up bloody ... and would I still need a change for postpartum ... do I then buy 2 and trash 1?

Good! I don’t feel the baby moving yet and I am feeling much better physically, only occasional nausea. Besides trouble sleeping, I have to remind myself I’m pregnant sometimes haha.

We got to see our baby at an ultrasound to find out the gender! But baby didn’t cooperate, so the gender is still a surprise. 🤣 It felt so reassuring to know that the baby is doing ok, though.

I was able to wear whatever I wanted (but I was at a birth centre, not hospital). I ended up bringing a comfortable nursing bra, and a thin bathrobe to wear during labor and then an extra set of comfy clothes, (tank top and soft loose sweats) for afterwards (cuddling baby, nursing etc).

My first outfit didn't get all gross, mostly because my team was great with helping control bodily fluids and stuff, and also because when I wanted to labor in bed, I took the robe off and draped it over me instead of wearing it like normal. I still got the coverage I was comfortable with, but also everything that needed to be accessible was.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? I’ve still been exhausted and now short of breath so I had them do another blood draw my last prenatal visit. Sure enough, I’m anemic, which I also was my last pregnancy and had to take 3 iron pills/day! For now, I’m on one iron pill/day. Hoping I will now start to get some more energy back.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: It’s been a rough couple weeks and I’m so over winter weather. Good news is we have a trip to Disney coming up in March so I’m having fun buying outfits 😊

@tashaandpeanut I brought 2 of my own hospital gowns when I gave birth to my son. One was a Frida mom labor and delivery gown that was cheap on Amazon. I wore that for my induction, which ended in a c-section. It didn't get too gross, but it was so nice to change into the nicer/better quality hospital gown I got from Kindred Bravely. I wore it along with a robe for the rest of the hospital stay after my son was born. It was easy to nurse in it, and for the doctors to check on my c-section incision. I washed both when we got home and I'll be bringing them for this birth as well

@redseawitch SO exciting about the car seat/stroller purchase! Makes the whole thing feel a lot more real, just imagining all the use you'll be getting out of them!
