Upcoming Appointments: had my 24 week appointment today. I'll likely make my 28 week appointment and glucose test for 4 weeks from today
How are you feeling?: pretty good! My skin has been bothering me. It's very red and splotchy. It didn't get like this during my first pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: my son is still transitioning into a new room with a big bed instead of the crib. I think it's been harder on me than him. I've been crying a lot about how he is too little to be a big brother and worrying about him in his new room that's further from our room 😥 hopefully I'll start to sleep better because he's sleeping fine lol
Questions: anyone else having weird skin changes?
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live? I live how close we are to so many family members and I love the restaurants. I'm biased, but I think Chicago has the best food scene in the country 😅
Upcoming Appointments: 2/4, 28 week appt and glucose test
How are you feeling?: Still tired, getting up at least once a night to pee isn’t helping. Heartburn is getting worse which stinks
Rants/Raves: So the last few weeks I’ve been having issues where I will eat, like 30 min later feel starving but if I eat again it’s way too much food and I get a stomach ache. Saw on Reddit women having like a sucker when they still feel super hungry and thank goodness it worked. It also doesn’t set off my heartburn as an added win!
Questions: Anyone else getting annoyed about work? I’m trying to plan my maternity leave coverage and will need to train people to cover but my boss acts like there is all the time in the world to plan. I work in sales- so making sure my customers feel safe with the new prison is super important to me.
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live?
We have a ton of bike trails (paved and soft) which make it super nice to take walks. Right now it’s too cold but hopefully after March I can get outside again!
Upcoming Appointments: Today! Meeting with my old OB from my previous pregnancy. I just didn't feel comfortable with my closer OB and the midwife group I was hoping for won't take me as I've had two c-sections
How are you feeling?: just so defeated at the moment. There is lots going on and I feel like I just neeed to make it through this month.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I ran into a deer for the first time in my life on Tuesday and now my van is out of commission. Everything felt fine and I'm getting an US today just to make sure there are no issues. Trying to look on the positives that none of my kids were in the car when it happened.
Rave: I can see my tummy shake when baby kicks from the inside 😍
Questions: none. Just chugging along.
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live? Low crime and the nature is beautiful... even the deer 😅😒
@hunnymac my husband just felt the baby move for the first time this weekend! We were laying in bed with his hand on my belly and she started kicking and punching up a storm ❤️
How are you feeling?: the best I’ve felt all pregnancy! Really good
Rants/Raves: Rave- I’m on the way home from a vacation to Mexico. It was a work trip for my husband (his company took a bunch of customers + spouses) and it was the relaxation and recharge that I’ve needed since…last May? Also, I felt baby girl kick from “the outside” for the first time today! Rant- DH is usually lucky to feel our babies kick more than once during a pregnancy. I’ve always had anterior placentas and super chill babies. Maybe this time he’ll get luckier.
Questions: none atm
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live? The rural setting. 2 minutes from MIL & BIL/SIL; my kids have 15 acres to run around on; the small town setting where I know all the teachers from life outside of school and I for-real know how my kids are doing at school both academically and personally; that I live in an agricultural heavy part of the world and DH & I both get to do jobs I love. And southern food! I grew up in the north- food is way better down here.
How are you feeling?: great! A little work stressed and house stressed, but the countdown is on. Estimating that I’ll go out ~38 weeks so this is 16 weeks of work left this week.
@cuveema12-23 yes! My boss is a little panicking because we have new people starting and the start dates keep getting pushed back and we have some massive projects getting kicked off. I’m totally work checked out already. I’m very productive when I’m there but my brain is 100% ready to just be nesting - yes I know I have time 😂 I just can’t help but want to be prepping
Rants/Raves: felt the baby from the outside this week! My husband and one of my friends was able to also. We also officially picked names! If it’s a boy- Everett River, if it’s a girl- Veda Emery (pronounced vay-dah)
Questions: none
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live? Mmmm… being so close to the shore and having good access to fresh air, looking forward to our new home and the sounds of the woods again.
@gravcass I hope going back to your old on will make you more comfortable! It sounds like the right move.
How are you feeling?: No real complaints right now, just taking everything day by day.
Rants/Raves: My daughter is basically ready to potty train. I would absolutely love to do it before our second gets here but I’m a little nervous for how that will work out after baby is born as I will be alone with both my toddler and baby pretty soon after birth and our only bathroom is upstairs with tons of carpet between our living room and the bathroom.
Questions: none
GTKY: what's your favorite thing about where you live? I love that we have so many bike trails around us. We bought Burley last summer for my daughter to be able to join us and she loves it! It is a double Burley so looking forward to when this little one is old enough to join us too!
Thank you for all the kind words everyone. @rlindqui16 how old is your daughter? I just got the paperwork from my Dr. To put me on moderated "bed rest" and am hoping to potty training my son during this time, but think I might be starting too soon. He's turning 2 right before the new one gets here.
@gravcass my daughter turned 2 in October so she will be 2 1/2 right before our second is here. We kinda did a modified start to potty training with her, as she has been using the toilet before nap and bedtimes and knows to tell us before she needs to go #2. Now it would basically be just getting her used to realizing the feeling of needing to go pee before she goes and actually switching to underwear during the day. I do think we could have done this way sooner than now, as she was interested in the potty quite a bit ago, I just never had the time to actually go for it. If your son is up for it, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot! I’ve had friends that tried it for a bit, and ended up waiting a month after it wasn’t working out and the second time worked.
