Eating sugar

Can anyone tell me if eating cake and sugar will really affect the pregnancy? I am overall healthy and I do eat healthy as well but I am having such cravings for sugary foods and I want to know if it’s a real problem.

i grew my first baby on sweet frog ice cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch and she is a very smart 10yo! I don’t think twice about eating whatever I am craving during pregnancy

that said, I find I do crave sugar when perhaps a nap is what I really need. But no, I don’t think you need to feel bad for indulging in cake and sweets! Baby needs so little nutrition from you right now because she’s so small, so as long as sugar isn’t all you’re eating, your body will get the nutrients from the other foods to baby.

I had been wondering the same thing. I’ve really cut back on sugar since getting pregnant.
