Hi all - I am a FTM to our 4-week old. I’ve noticed I have intense anxiety right around 5 pm when the sun is going down (aka witching hour) and af a6 a when the sun is wishing. I talk to a therapist and am ona. Low dose SSRI. Any advice on how to curb the anxiety? I don’t want to miss out of the love our son is trying to offer.
Re: Anxiety at Night?
Hi there, I totally get it—it’s so tough! I went through something similar when my baby was that little. What helped me was creating a calming evening routine, like dimming the lights, playing soft music, and just focusing on cuddling. Sometimes stepping outside for fresh air (even just for a minute) made a big difference, too. Be kind to yourself—you’re already doing so much, and it’s okay to feel this way. You’ve got this! ❤️
I'm hoping that once you start getting more sleep through the night that the anxiety will go down with it. Sleep is medicine! And unfortunately we don't get a lot of it at the start.
My baby is sleeping 4-6hr stretches now at 2 months and I'm finding my mood and anxiety has decreased tremendously!
