TTC - 2 miscarriages in a year.

My husband and I had our first + on November 20, 2023 and the loss on November 30 2023.

Doctors couldn’t decide between a miscarriage or Ectopic so they ruled it as Ectopic and gave me the shot.

We weren’t actively trying to conceive. It just happened.

After the “ectopic” we started trying on January, after my bleeding stopped.

I didn’t got an + again until August 10 2024.

When I went to my first ultrasound on Sep 16, my Dr couldn’t see the fetus. That night I had the miscarriage.

I had a D&C on September 20th.

I am 24, my husband 29.

My Dr. Did some tests and everything came back normal.

I am so scared of trying again.

Anyone had the same experience?

I also want to add:

Again, my D&C was on September 20th, I haven’t gotten my period BUT I started having ALL the symptoms I had before my second + test.

I know some people can conceive before their period.

I tested twice this week and all negative.

Thoughts?

camiihobbit I'm sorry for your losses. Your doctor should be testing your HCG until it goes down to 0 before you start trying to conceive again. Also, it can take months for your cycle to regulate out after a MC.

If you have 2 confirmed losses, you can go to a Reproductive Endocrinologist for testing. However, the tests can be pricey depending on your insurance. Also, keep in mind that around 50% of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss sufferers after testing have unexplained reasons for their losses.

What keeps me going is that after each PG, you have a choice. You either decide you are done and can't handle the stress, emotions and everything else and decide not to try again. Or you decide you are mentally and physically ok with trying again, and you roll the dice. Reality is that many people have 2 losses and go on to have a living baby with no issues. The statistics really are in your favor. Those of us with 3 / 4 / 5 / more losses live in an extremely tiny margin of statistics land. It really sucks, but if it would happen to you, the support is out there.

I had a miscarriage 10/18/2024. It was ruled a “pregnancy of unknown location” I had my regular cycle and started using the clear blue ovulation tracker and ovulated like normal. Got a positive about two weeks ago, had my ultrasound Tuesday and the embryonic sack was completely empty. I haven’t miscarried yet but the doctor said the chances of anything developing are pretty slim. I go back Tuesday to see what happens.

I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m devastated and terrified.

We are going to try again as soon as my blood work comes back normal and I’m ovulating again

First of all, I am so sorry for your losses and the operation. That is really tough mentally, physically and emotionally. I am 32 and started trying for children at 30. I experienced 3 miscarriages in a row, then I finally was pregnant and it didn’t feel right the whole time. Only my partner and I knew, at 20 weeks I had the big ultrasound her brain was not developed (among other abnormalities). I had an amniontisis (sorry I’m not sure how to spell that), where they take some amniotic fluid from the baby. She had many chromosomal abnormalities, the doctor said it should have been a miscarriage and didn’t know why my body retained the pregnancy. I made the really hard decision to end the pregnancy when her body, and my body began to shut down. I never imagined being in that situation, just a little insight my lowest heart rate heart rate was 38, in pain all the time and couldn’t eat or hardly keep down water. We did All the recommended testing, all came back normal and nothing of concern. After that pregnancy I had my 4th miscarriage. Finally!! My next pregnancy was a completely normal, very healthy and BIG boy. In fact I had a water birth and it was all completely routine. Well anyways here we are a year later trying again and I’ve experienced another miscarriage. I personally think they’re more common than reported and I am wishing you the best. It’s a bumpy road for some of us, you are strong, good luck and hang in there. I am rooting for you!! 💕
