Baby is the size of a (an): grapefruit and weighs as much as eight eggs?

Upcoming Appointments: good reminder I need to make one 😬

How are you feeling?: so much better today now that my toddler is at daycare 🎉 it's been a looooong two weeks lol

Rants/Raves: my 21 month old son is my rant and rave. It's been tough having him home basically uninterrupted for two weeks, but he is so silly and sweet sometimes. We transitioned him to his new room and toddler bed over the break, and last night as he was trying to fall asleep he said "I want mama kisses, I want dada kisses, I want mama hugs, I want dada cuddles" and it literally melted my heart.

Questions: anyone doing anything special for the positioning of the baby? On my first pregnancy I woke up every morning and did a 15 minute yoga flow that spinning babies sells and I was also seeing a chiropractor, but then he didn't come out and they blame positioning so maybe I should do less 😅

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch?
I love a good brunch, but I can never decide if I want a filling meal like a skillet or a delicious, dessert meal like a waffle 🥞🍳

How are you feeling?: The last two weeks have been exhausting, my core is super tight from pick up my 1 year old all the time.  Actually relieved for him to go back to daycare even though I missed him a lot.

Rants/Raves: I don’t know what hit me the last couple days but I am suddenly so over being pregnant. I’ve just hit this limit where I’m sick of the hormones, the heartburn, and the insomnia.  Please let the next couple months go by fast

    Questions: no questions!
so for positioning I just sat forward a lot in the last trimester (mainly on birthing ball) and did the miles circuit everyday the last two weeks. Baby came out just fine so I think that helped?

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch? Great question! I think dinner? I like to cook brunch foods at home so they are less exciting.
  • Thank you fornstarting this. Ive been so lost the few weeks.

How are you feeling?: frustrated trying to change providers.

Rants/Raves: Just tired all the time and still coughing.

    Questions: none

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch?
Ohhh dinner. So many more options.
  • @mcmanda4321 for positioning- I’m doing a daily 30 second inversion (link below), 5 minutes on the birth ball, and a couple of prenatal fitness classes. I’m a ftm so I’ve got no background on if it helps just trying to get my body ready and do everything I can to give the baby its best chance at a smooth entrance to the world.

Not ready to post my weekly update yet- I’ll be back on Thursday to do that.

How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good, but semi-ready to be done with being pregnant and move on to figuring out life with a newborn and toddler. My personality is wanting to have a plan for everything and this isn’t something I will ever fully be able to prepare for so just jumping into it seems better than overthinking every possibility.

Rants/Raves: Finally told my boss that I am pregnant and was given full reign to decide how my return to work will go (ie. How many hours, certain days to ease in). A full 180 from telling my previous boss I was pregnant with my first and they told me to go let HR know my job needs to be posted since they wouldn’t hold it for me.

    Questions: none right now
For positioning baby, with my first I did the forward leaning inversion (helped tons with relieving third trimester pressure). I was not doing it this early. It was probably around 30 weeks or so that I might have started. I’m no medical professional, but I feel like baby has too much room right now to really make a difference. I can feel my baby switching positions all the time right now so I’m not that concerned with starting until later.

I also did a bit of cold on top of my belly (hello shelf for pint of ice cream) during the third trimester as my midwife recommended cold to deter baby’s head from being there.

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch? Dinner, I am not a morning person at all so things that happen later in the day are much more enjoyable!

Baby is the size of a (an): coconut

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: 1/21, glucose test not scheduled yet.

How are you feeling?: really great, I hope this stays. I can handle the middle of the night insomnia, constipation, and round ligament pain. I do think baby is in a bad spot for me to sleep on my right side, so I’m trying to get used to exclusively being a left side sleeper.

Rants/Raves: we are in house limbo and currently living with friends. I think unfortunately we’re going to be bringing baby home to our friends house (which I’m freaking out about) but I just don’t think our new home will be ready yet. I’m trying to be zen about it.

In other news I brain dumped my 3 page prep for baby countdown to do list, and have started to tackle the low hanging fruit. I booked a maternity photo session (requested by hubs), reached out to daycares, found a pediatrician, booked an in person birth and breastfeeding class (also taking one online), and started to hunt for a reasonably priced dresser for the nursery.

Questions: are you panicking that there’s not enough time already? I’m expecting about 16 more weeks of work and it’s going to be pedal to the metal the whole time. The countdown is already on in my head.

Are you part of a mom group in your local area? How did you find it? I’m not a big social media fan but it seems like Facebook is the only route.

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch? Brunch! It feels like more of a treat and I love breakfast foods.

Upcoming Appointments: Had an appointment with my midwife clinic on Monday and received my paperwork to go for my Glucose test. Haven't yet booked it but will be aiming for sometime during 24/25weeks so I can get my results during my 26w appointment with the midwife clinic. Also asked for a referral to a pelvic pt, haven't be experiencing any symptoms/pelvic floor issues yet but have been seeing along online about taking preventative measures. Currently waiting to hear back from that office, the midwife spoke very highly of the clinic they referred me to so I am interested to see what comes from that.

How are you feeling?: Overall good, I unfortunately had a really bad cold at the start of Dec and it took a while for that to clear up. I am still feeling really phlegmy in my throat but can't decide how much of that is leftover cold symptom and how much is pregnancy in a cold climate ( the last few weeks have been daily lowest around -10 to -15 C or 14 to 5 F). I've been feeling some movement but being my first time and everyone's experience being different, I really haven't been sure what's on par or even for a little bit there, if that was what I was actually feeling. The midwife informed me that I have an anterior placenta and now knowing that, the types of movements and where I feeling them makes a lot more sense.

Rants/Raves: I've been spending a good amount of downtime thinking and looking at recommendation/must have/most used product types of things while trying to make up a registry. I had a Facebook Marketplace win today, ended up getting a Halo Bassinet for $50. I don't know which exact version it is, but considering that it can only be used up to 20lbs and the current ones are going for upwards of $400 by the time you factor in taxes and such, I am pretty pleased with my find!

Questions: Has anyone else found themselves getting caught up trying to set up their year? I am not really into new years resolutions, but I normally give myself measurable goals, like read x number of books or save y $ and so on. This year though I am at a bit of a loss in knowing that everything is going to go out the window and become very day to day. Have definitely had to remind myself a few times that this is not the year for that and to just take things as they come.

Re time - YES! I know there is still time but feel like this next half is going to go by incredibly quickly. In the early teens weeks, I remember saying to my husband that it felt very hurry up and wait but I also knew that right around the corner, things would ramp up and quickly. I don't want to say I am worried there isn't enough time, because there is and I don't want to get into that headspace. But I definitely feel like I want to get some sort of to-do list with ideal weeks to have each item checked off by.

GTKY: would you rather go out for dinner or brunch? I don't like eggs, the texture really throws me off so my brunch choices can be very limited. I do love waffles, pancakes, and french toast but I think because of the range of choices, I'd have to say dinner.
  • @ajeff1121 I tried Facebook mom groups and didn’t have any luck getting connected with anyone there. Instead, I have found that getting connected with the local early childhood & family education center (typically put on by the local school district) is a great way to find moms of other kids around the same age as yours. The one in my district offered 4th trimester classes, infant massage, and infant playtimes (up to 18 months old) for free and I have continued on with my two year old through their paid programs as well. I now have a group of other moms that have kiddos close in age to my own and even have one friend I met through ECFE that is pregnant with their second right along with me!
