Well I figured I'll start the random topic page for January. Really hoping out chat isn't dying and it's just been the Holidays! 😁 Hope everyone has had a great holiday season! 😁😁💙🎉
With the holidays and back to work, time has been a blur!! How exciting to find out the gender!
16 week appointment on Monday, crazy to think it’s just a waiting game until the anticipated anatomy scan in mid February. Hope everyone is staying healthy, norovirus is a nasty one out there.
This is a very quiet group! lol but I’ll add on. I’m 16w6d and had an ultrasound yesterday to try to see the gender. Baby didn’t want to cooperate but also I’m not totally trusting this particular ultrasound tech very much. At first she said girl and then changed her mind and thought she saw boy parts and just said we’ll have to confirm at the anatomy scan (on January 30th) 😩. She also said our baby has hair.. I was googling that and it says that for the most part you wouldn’t see hair until at least 28 weeks.. so that’s why I’m not sure if I trust her judgement 😅
@knottie wow... I'm surprised they would say something if they aren't confident. Or at that time, there's a reason anatomy scans are around 18-20. Even -22 weeks.( My ultrasound place likes to do the scans 20-22 weeks.)That's crazy.. I'd be upset, and def taking what she said with a grain of salt. As hard as that is, try to be positive. Just try to be happy, you saw your lil nugget, and in 3d scan. Those are cool. I have never had one before. Lol maybe let her boss know? She shouldn't of said something unless it was clear to see and confident on her finding. I'm sorry you had this experience. ☹️
Hey fellow June Mama’s! It’s cold and Snowy here in Vermont and I’m really thankful for cozy spaces and being able to get out on skis to enjoy the winter. I’m still waiting to feel strong kicks and movement ( 17 weeks with baby #4). I have my anatomy scan on the 29th kinda a mixed bag of feelings about that appointment.
Hiiiiii @shieldmaiden95 I quite literally collapsed of exhaustion after Christmas and haven't been keeping up with anything! Plus we all came down with a head cold a week ago and it's our first headcold since 2023 and we are miserable! Ugh, I'm slowly catching up with friends and events and social media and trying not to overdo it, Christmas gave me hella Braxton Hicks 😩😩 Anyways I'm so thankful you took such great care of this little bump group and kept up with the threads! I added a few that I thought people might like to use over the next few months, it's baby year you all! 🥳🥳 I can't believe our anatomy scans are so soon! I literally can't remember if mine is the 21st or the 23rd, my brain is fried lol, but it'll be here so soon!
If anyone on the east coast or the great plains wants to trade snow for 50s and rain every day let me know! 😂
@kalesix3 omg yay! Hiiii!!! I missed you! I'm so sorry everyone got sick! And Braxton Hicks already!?!?? Girl!!! Sit down. This an order. Lol My kiddo got sick too, and just got better this last week. I'm just happy I didn't get sick with him. I hate seeing him sick. But he handled it like a trooper.
I hope you guys all feel better soon! 💜
I love how we are days apart for our ultrasound!!! 💙💙 I'm so excited to find out what we are having!
I have been thinking of you tons and I'm glad you are ok-ish. 😂 Glad to see your name pop back up. It was my pleasure to keep things moving here. Lol I enjoyed it! 😃
Literally, snow vibes for the PNW. 😂 It's been in the 30's here and we got snow once, and it wasn't much and it melted hours later. I'm sooooo annoyed. I want snow.😤 🌨️☃️❄️
@shieldmaiden95 yeah I was annoyed about it, but my body is just trying to be heard loud and clear haha. It's been hard too because I want to spring clean everything after taking decorations down and I just don't have the capacity for as much as I want to do while sick, it really sucks. I better be back to healthy again soon, 😤 We can send all the snow vibes back and forth, I don't think it's gotten colder than 40s all winter. I thought moving to the mountain range would help but alas it's rain and fog for me lmao. I'd love snow too, my 19 month old has never seen it 😩
Is anyone working on a logistics problem with baby? I'm hardcore trying to figure out our stroller wagon situation and it's so difficult, we got a keenz wagon last year and we *love* this wagon, it comes everywhere with us, but I didn't get the kind with raised seats and so it's the only model that doesn't have a car seat adapter for an infant seat, I don't necessarily want to fork out another $700 for a different wagon or a double stroller with a ride on board when our wagon could totally fit all three kids if it only had an adapter 😭
@kalesix3 try to take it easy and drink some OJ. I know that's hard with kiddos around. 😂 So as easy as you can. I have been trying to take it easier, I have a naturally high heart rate and it's sparked the midwife concerns. But I have always had a high heart rate. 🤷♀️ I won't even lie, we still have the decorations up. 😂 They got up late and we're trying to enjoy them. Which also leads to a logistics of the baby, as we have to get storage unit so we can have more room for things. 😂 So that's where the holiday stuff (and other things) will go. Shame on me, for going all out for the holidays. 😂 Awwe your poor 19 month old. That's so not fair for him. We need snow! 🌨️❄️
So no, they sell the adapter separately but it's not made for my model of wagon, they have one adapter that works with all the wagons except mine because I think they're trying to phase out the adventure models which sucks for me 😭 I just don't think I want to invest in a stroller for the summer because realistically I'm not going to take the baby out in the wagon all winter and by next spring the baby will be big enough to sit in the wagon unassisted anyways and I won't use the stroller at all, Bleh.
And speaking of orange juice I've been making my own electrolyte drinks and am obsessed. Also our first sickness of the winter has turned into two different headcolds back to back and I'm so over it. I just want us to be healthy again, ugh.
@kalesix3 I love when they try to phase stuff out. 🙄 Ugh. I'm sorry. I'm having the hardest time picking out a swing, I actually like........ I have spent way too many hours looking at flipping swings, and reviews. They changed up the one I had for my first, and I don't like it now. 😂
So I pick a citrus juice, orange, lime, lemon or sometimes vinegar and lemon if I'm feeling some type of way, and I mix it with half water, and coconut water, crushed ice, pink Himalayan salt, magnesium, and turbinado sugar (the kind with molasses for the extra minerals) and shake it real good and enjoy ice cold, I think lemon might be a pregnancy craving or something because I can't get enough lately.
Re swings, graco simple sway is what I settled on after reading every review on the planet. I was going to get something fancier but my kids don't like fancy swings and it was a pain getting rid of my son's when he hated it so I just went with simple and somewhat unaesthetic 😭
I forgot to reply to December randoms baby kicks but is everyone feeling more movement now? Can you feel kicks on the outside yet? This baby has some of the gentlest movements but I love all the outside kicks and rolls I've been feeling, especially at night when I lie down, it's really nice to connect because with two toddlers I don't get to stop and interact with the baby as much as I'd like 😭
Also interesting tidbit but I've never given the baby any pronouns around my kiddos because I don't want to set them up for an expectation and disappointment, so it's always 'the baby' or they but my son was looking at my sonogram pictures on the refrigerator yesterday and said "mom what's his name going to be, can we name him pigcrew" which 🫠 the name lmao but the fact that he just said "his name" when he truly has no idea.. and it's funny because usually my son uses "she" for everyone and everything, so idk 😅
@kalesix3 I have been wanting lemon things! Noosa lemon yogurt, lemon muffins, lemon pudding. I want lemon. 😂 You're not alone. The drink sounds good, despite the fact I hate coconut water. 😂
Yes I have been feeling kicks for a couple weeks. Hubs actually felt the baby last week. 😁
You can absolutely omit the coconut water! I do whenever I'm out of it! Lemon muffins sound awfully good too though 🫠 I think it was lemon oui yogurt in the glass jars that I ate obsessively when I was pregnant with my son 😆
I’m finally feeling kicks and movement now! It makes it so much more real! It seemed like it took longer this time but I also wonder if scar tissue from my incision made it harder to feel maybe?! Haven’t felt them outside yet.
@kmbeit do you know where your placenta is ? They make it so hard to feel movement sometimes 😭 😭 but I'm glad it's getting more frequent and hopefully you start feeling some stronger kicks and rolls from the outside in the next week or so 🙌🏻
@kalesix3 well my first ultrasound they said it was anterior but this last one it moved and they said it’s fundal. Yes it does help feeling movement even just inside! More reassuring!
@kmbeit that's amazing that it moved because anterior placentas make feeling movement so hard I've heard, I always have fundal placentas 🫠 I thought maybe this time it would be somewhere else but nope fundal again.
@kalesix3 yes I’ve heard that too! With my last one it was closer to the bottom and they were afraid of placenta previa but it moved enough last time too so that was nice. And I guess this time it wasn’t my first scan but one I had around 14wks when they said that it was anterior.
Oh my gosh I couldn't decide which thread to read first, I'm happy for you, and just wanted to say it's okay if you're a little disappointed or it takes a little bit to shift gears! I'm super excited for you though and I think you'll love having a girl!
So I think our tally from the regular members is @kmbeit and @maddiiiroseee as the having boys, you're having a girl, and @knittingmama4 and I are team green.
@shieldmaiden95 congrats on the little girl! Honestly part of why I'm staying team green is I feel like finding out earlier would make gender disappointment easier. We have 3 girls and 1 boy and at first I was like what do we do with a boy???? But so far it's been fun! I bet you'll feel the same way once she's here
Thanks mamas!!!! 💜💜 I literally keep repeating "it's a girl." Trying to wrap my head around it. 😂 I guess my gut feeling was actually right this time. 😂 Even if I wanted another boy.😂 Still can't believe it's real. Or that we are that far along in this pregnancy. I'm excited to have both though. 😁
I guess I should add everything looked normal, and baby is measuring just 2 days behind the due date from the first ultrasound. Which they said is really good. Most importantly everything looks good. 🩷😁
Anatomy scan day for me! Baby stayed folded up in transverse up against my placenta with its feet and hands in it's face the entire time even with two different techs trying and me walking for 10 minutes to get them to turn and move lol. They're healthy and happy but I have a marginal cord insertion which doesn't thrill me because I don't like complications, even mild ones 😭 I get growth ultrasounds every four weeks after this until I deliver so I'm glad we can keep an eye on it though. I also got no cute pictures because he wouldn't move which is sad but I'll survive!
@kalesix3 ommmgg!!!!! Yay! And I'm sorry! It's funny how stubborn and sassy these babies can be already. You're waiting to find out the gender right? I'm sending so many positive vibes. I hope everything stays healthy and happy. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@shieldmaiden95 I am waiting, I call him a he sometimes though subconsciously because that's what he feels like but we'll see if I change my mind closer to delivery. He is a little snuggle bug and doesn't like to move for anyone 😅 I think the biggest complication with a marginal cord insertion is low birth weight and slow growth but so far he/they have been doing lovely on growth so I don't worry too much right now.
@kalesix3 Aww so cute! I have a stubborn one too and have to go back cause mine won’t stop moving 😄 wow you’ll really get the ultrasounds but maybe you’ll get better pics too! Hope everything stays healthy!
@kalesix3 I give you props on waiting. I considered it for a minute.... Then my husband reminded me, we can't even wait to give each other Christmas gifts, how are we going to be able to to wait on something like that. Lol 😂 I hope everything keeps going well. 🤍
It’s so fun to open this app and see some cute little profiles. Can’t believe most of these June bugs are half baked already!!! Has anyone started to gather and make space for their new babes?
Shieldmaiden I always have an easier time waiting on my babies than presents haha! Besides I spend the entire time looking at theories and wives tales and speculating which I love doing 😉😁
Kalesix hahaha I get that! I love looking up the theories too. 😂 It's funny when they started the scan, she was literally "look!! I'm a girl!" It was just right there. I looked up at the screen and pretty much knew what I was looking at. So I'm glad we were finding out. 😂 The tech asked if we wanted to know right then, even though it just started. 😂 Then the baby, just got sassy and took forever to get what they needed. 😂 But it got done, after taking over an hour.
Mine is 2 weeks after yours! Man does anyone else feel like a jump scare logging into the bump and seeing the size comparisons? I guess because I'm so busy all the time I don't spend as much time thinking about it but seeing endive was just like.... No there's no way lol
Yeah I was like whoa for real when I saw that. But sometimes with the monthly size comparisons I wonder if that’s what they are by the time that portion of time is over?! Idk! Just seems really weird sometimes! Which I guess we’re about halfway too so… I feel like this time I haven’t paid as much attention to everything like I did the first pregnancy too so maybe that’s the shock factor every time I actually do think about it 😄
Re: January Randoms!
@kalesix3 where are you!?!?!?! I miss you!!!!!! 😭😭😭💜💜💜💔💔 Been thinking of you tons lately. Hope everything is fine!! 💜💜
