2nd Trimester

17 Weeks and got rear ended

Today while I was sitting at the traffic light another car rear ended me at the light. The air bags did not deploy and there wasn’t hardly a scratch on my car just a small dent. I was so worried because the seat belt tightened up however it wasn’t painful. I called my OB and they said that there was no need to come in unless I was bleeding or was in a lot of pain. I do have an appointment with the OB on Wednesday anyway and they said that they would also check the heart rate at the appointment. I’m so worried and I just need reassurance. Logically I know the doctors know what is alarming for me to come in. Should I also ask for an ultrasound?

You are absolutely fine, that is what the amniotic fluid is for. To protect the baby.  Your doctor told you not to worry, it was barely a hit if the airbags did not deploy.
You are 3 weeks away from your anatomy scan.  A fetal dopler is plenty to assure all is good.
