March 2025 Babies

How do you sleep??

Hey everyone.  I'm 27+2 with my second and I'm having so much trouble sleeping.  I know I'm not supposed to sleep on my back but it's all I'm finding comfortable.  If I'm on my side I wake up with pain in my hips with or without a pillow between my legs and baby girl moves constantly.  I'm plus sized and very busty so I'm not sure if that is adding to my discomfort. Any suggestions on how to sleep more comfortably?? What are you all doing to get some rest? Are your babies more active when you're on your side as well?

I have been having a lot of sciatic pain! I’m 30 weeks, and just got a recommendation to go see a physical therapist! So far my hips feel better other than just being sore from the workouts! I also purchased the lanisnoh magnesium cream and my husband massages my hips, legs and feet with it before bed and it has helped me sleep a lot better also! Good luck mama, we are almost there!

  • I was primarily a back sleeper before pregnancy and started sleeping with a pregnancy pillow at like 13 weeks to train myself to sleep on my side. I highly recommend magnesium spray or cream before bed and lots of stretching before bed and when you wake up to help with the pains from side sleeping. I often wake up to pee and can barely walk my hips are so in pain from sleeping on my side but I try to tell myself this is temporary. My baby is super active all night while I’m sleeping but now I’m tired enough I can fall back asleep without his movements keeping me awake. My anxiety about sleeping on my back keeps me on my side.
  • I had a hard time sleeping on my side with my first (and still do). My midwife suggested propping my hip up with a pillow so it was almost like I was on my back, but since I was slanted, it took the pressure of my uterus off whatever that vein is that can be compressed by back sleeping. Nights when I really couldn't side sleep, I slept like this and it was great!
  • I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow 🥳 and I'm having a hard time sleeping because of Baby's wriggling and I like to sleep on my stomach but this baby is like Absolutely under no circumstances may you sleep at a slant, partially on your stomach, because that's my space. And if you do, I will let you know that I don't like it. 🤺 🥊

My girls were gentle in utero. My older son always wriggled a whole lot when I was on one particular side. I can't remember if it was my left or my right but he really wriggled a ton and I just couldn't sleep with him when I laid on that one side.

    I need coffee. ☕️
