No fetal pole

On Friday, I was experiencing bleeding and cramping so I went to urgent care. They tested by hcg and it was 8150 (7 days prior it was 305). They also sent me for an ultrasound which showed a gestational sac measuring 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac but no fetal pole. That measurement is in line with how far along I am. 

I guess I’m just looking for reassurance about the fact no fetal pole was seen. I know it’s early and that may be why but my anxiety is getting the best of me!

    Was it a transvaginal or abdominal uktrasound? That can make a huge difference on what is visible. Your betas are good and everything else was visible. I wouldn’t worry at all at this point.

    The same thing happened to me, my husband and I went in and were told there was a gestational sac but there was no fetal pole or yolk sac and to guard our hearts in case it was a blighted ovum. Based on my LMP we should have been around 6 weeks at the time, and our dr was concerned. She told us to return in a week for another look. Lo and behold, a week later our baby was visible and measuring about 6 weeks exactly. I have always had irregular cycles so we think we just ovulated later than expected. Our baby is now 12 weeks along and is looking healthy and strong. 💕

    I know the anxiety that you are experiencing and I am so sorry, but I’m proof that positive outcomes exist! I will keep you and your little one in my thoughts
