pregnant and breastfeeding

hi all! i’m almost 6 months postpartum, still breastfeeding exclusively, and just got a positive pregnancy test a couple days ago 🥹

any advice for breastfeeding while pregnant? has anyone done it successfully before? i would love to continue breastfeeding as much as possible as long as it’s not harming baby to be and current big baby. any advice is appreciated

Re: pregnant and breastfeeding

  • I have breastfed through 5 pregnancies. You need to drink a ton of water. When you feel like you can’t drink anymore, go ahead and drink more. Seriously. I also take brewers yeast pills to help my supply. It has kept me from losing my supply during illnesses where I got super dehydrated. Eating oatmeal can help supply and lactation cookies. Body armor is a drink many people swear by. You could add that and see how it goes.

I would not try fenugreek. It can help some women and lower the supply of other women.

At some point your milk will dry up a good bit. If you want to tandem nurse you will need to continue letting your LO latch so they continue once your milk comes in. Good luck!
