Upcoming Appointments: this Thursday for an anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: pregnancy brain so bad. I work in construction and am just over it right now. My body is tired and the relaxin is hitting hard
Rants/Raves: Rants. My hips HURT. last time I had one hip that would give out cause of the relaxin and it's started again thos week. Twice I've almost fallen getting out of the car. I had placental abruption my last pregnancy and am just trying to be super careful about falls
Questions: none
GTKY: no big ones. We do the pickle in the tree thing. Usually my daughter and I bond over putting together the Christmas village
Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan and 20 week appointment next week
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, finally over being sick and have more energy.
Rants/Raves: We just did an 23 hour drive from MN to GA with my 2-year-old to visit in-laws for the holidays. Overall, it went really well but that drive was exhausting as we drove straight through the night and I wasn’t able to sleep well in the car. Not super excited for the drive back but we are planning to stop one night to break it up which will hopefully help!
Questions: none right now.
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition I love making Christmas cookies/candy/baking. Right now, my kitchen isn’t that big so I end up taking over my mom’s kitchen the week of Christmas!
Upcoming Appointments: Monday 12/16 for my anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: finally feeling better. We had a scare last week where we thought my son had HFM but then it turned out to be strep and I guess he also had the stomach bug that was going around daycare but was asymptomatic because he gave it to me and my family who watched him this weekend🫠
Rants/Raves: feeling guilty about getting my whole family sick. I've also still been super anxious about this pregnancy for some reason
Questions: none that I can think of
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition I used to make cookies and decorate my godmother's tree each year when I was a kid, which I loved!
Hi Everyone, I hope it's okay to come back to the thread.. I was honestly a little nervous for this pregnancy, afraid of another loss and wanted to hide from all of the things for a little bit. I'm feeling more confident now though and hope I can rejoin
DD / Weeks + Days: 5/22 16+6
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM!
Baby is the size of a (an): Avocado!
Team blue/pink/green: Pink! It's a girl!
Upcoming Appointments: Christmas Eve!
How are you feeling?: so much better, that first trimester was so so so awful I actually lost some weight. Thankful to be here!
Rants/Raves: Nothing sounds good to eat, ever. I ate so many mini cupcakes with DD1 that I figured this would be the same, it's not..it's so hard to eat.
Questions: where are we getting pants? I got a couple pairs from Lasora and they're absolute trash. do not recommend!
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition: watching our kiddos decorate the tree! I haven't moved one single ornament they put up to fix any holes either ha!
How are you feeling?: tired, sore, my back is already starting to hurt
Rants/Raves: okay so last pregnancy I had a really hard time. This pregnancy I told my husband I wanted a tub I could sit up in and be covered in water. Bid we got was double budget and wouldn't be done until I was like 32 weeks pregnant. So yeah, basically know I’m going to be miserable for the next 20 weeks. Husband absolutely does not get it which makes it so much more frustrating
Questions: none @kelsajo not to speak for anyone but you can always join back in- personally with my first I was worried about jinxing it so I waited until I was like 28 weeks!
Pants I got were from target, honestly for the most part I bought cheap pants extenders and an elastic belt and last pregnancy and this one have been using those instead.
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition for me it’s also baking, I found a bunch of recipes my mom used to make us before she became a diabetic and so I have been giving them a try even though our little guy can’t have them yet! Want to get good so he can help make them next year!
Upcoming Appointments: I have an appt with a genetic counselor to check in baby girl on Monday, and my 20 week appointment in January!
How are you feeling?: good! I’ve been feeling a bit self conscious lately, and still nervous for my appointment on Monday!
Rants/Raves: I went to the doc on Monday for my 16 week appointment and he told me I’m not gaining enough weight and I need to be eating more. I struggle with hunger cues so I didn’t even realize I wasn’t eating. It’s been hard to try and up my intake admit food aversions.
Questions: anyone else still struggle with food? I don’t feel sick, or have any intense cravings a lot of food just grosses me out.
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition- baking with my momma ❤️❤️
@knottie450461fd7a745c8e I was also deemed to ‘not be gaining enough weight’ with both my first and this current pregnancy. With my first, I was referred to meet with a nutritionist, you should be able to request this through your provider if they have deemed you to not be gaining weight. She gave me ideas for how to add in good calories/high protein things, like having Greek yogurt for breakfast, keeping some mixed nuts on hand as a quick snack, and trying to focus on adding extra (healthier) snacks (ie. Apples smeared with peanut butter) throughout the day even if I wasn’t feeling hungry.
I have also learned that my body just does not gain weight through the first trimester and that’s normal for me. By the end of my last pregnancy, baby and I were completely healthy and I had ended up within their ‘healthy weight gain range’. My weight gain just happened later than what they expected.
Upcoming Appointments: 12/23, and anatomy scan 1/2
How are you feeling?: great, human, slow gut and bad reflux, and starting to get some insomnia but everything is manageable currently.
Rants/Raves: I’m ready for week 20!also I’m excited for some friends on this journey with me, one due in February and one who just joined the party due late July/ early August.
Questions: no questions this week.
GTKY: Favorite Holiday tradition. My family makes a German sweet bread for Christmas every year and baking day is scheduled for next weekend! It’s the best smell on Christmas morning.
@knottie450461fd7a745c8e I had bad aversions until week 16… and still can’t do pizza or cooked carrots, but I just slowly started trying things and most things were okay. Mostly reintroduced a lot of the food in week 17.
@kelsajo pants are my nemesis! I bought a pair for work from seraphine and they ripped into bits the first day. I ended up buying one good pair of leggings from lululemon, cheap leggings from amazon, i ordered a pair of work pants from stitch fix that i am loving and i got really lucky with some hand me downs from my boss (why on earth did the loft stop making maternity pants?!)
