    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: Tired/fatigued a lot.  Also, I've been sleeping in different positions (sitting up or slightly elevated) and today my arm is bothering me.  It feels weak and a little sore from time to time.  Not really painful, just annoying.  I'm sleeping in these positions because the heartburn has come back and some nights the Pepcid doesn't work for the whole night.

Rants/Raves: I just went through my daughters old clothing and pulled out the boy/neutral items so that I can re-wash them and get them put away.  While I was doing this, I realized that he is probably not going to fit into any of the newborn stuff.  Which kinda made me a little sad.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)? Being more interactive with my daughter.  This is where I push myself the most and then get really sore afterwards.  Yesterday she was getting upset about everything and just wanted to be held.  She would go back and forth between my husband and I and it got to the point one time I just couldn't pick her up.  We just got home so I went to the couch and my husband brought her over to me and put her on my lap.  But in the moment I felt so bad that I couldn't just pick her up and comfort her.  And I know it won't be immediately after he's born because I will still be recovering from the c-section.

    Team blue/pink/green: twin boys!

Upcoming Appointments: I go in for my second iron infusion on Thursday, then OB next Wed.

How are you feeling?: Reallyyyy uncomfortable. Having terrible time sleeping, and have started to get bad swelling in my feet/legs after being out and about too much. At this point in twin pregnancy they could realistically be here in a week or a month, so the unknown of it all is also stressing me out a little bit.

Rants/Raves: At our ultrasound appt last week, we learned that the boys are both measuring ahead by about 2 weeks, which is wild, but it does make me feel a little bit better about an early delivery situation if needed.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)?
YES! Just a few off the top of my head...
    - wear my normal clothes that haven't fit in months
    - sleep on my stomach (or just not sleep propped up in a sitting position lol)
    - wine
    - play with our puppy more actively

    Team blue/pink/green: baby boy

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday MFM Ultrasound + non-stress test; Friday routine OB visit - GSB swab

How are you feeling?: still feeling like I'm large and in charge! and my organs getting more and more squished, harder to breathe when driving. Getting harder and harder to feel comfortable sleeping. I was sleeping pretty decently until recently and it's definitely the size of the bump just getting bigger and bigger + feeling baby moving more often and stronger.

Rants/Raves: Wild to feel baby boy moving! I always wonder - does he have enough room in there? haha. excited to meet and welcome baby, but feeling anxious about the unknown - L&D and caring for a newborn. I still ask myself "am I prepared enough?" "can I do this?" "will I be a good mom?" and remind myself, SO many women for so many generations have done this and done this successfully lol. I didn't think I'd be a mom in this lifetime, so I think that's why I question whether I can "do this" and do this well.

    Questions:

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)? Definitely sleep positions - on stomach and on back haha. I hear after having a baby, you never return to your pre-mom self, but rather, work with your new sense of self and how you feel in your body. So for me, it's starting a new book (not a new chapter, but new book!) in my life and re-discovering what makes me feel happy, whole, and complete while evolving who I am as a mom.
  • @kamays54 @kendyb77 - - totally with both of you. Feeling more tired and fatigued nowadays AND feeling for the first time since 1st trimester, more and more uncomfortable. My belly is going next level - I hear this is when baby grows the most and grows quickly.

Baby is the size of a (an): pineapple 🍍

    Team blue/pink/green: boy

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 20 - after that I start going every week!

How are you feeling?: I mean, tired and emotional? This morning I cried a little bit when I saw that I only have 5 weeks left until due date, and then a cried in a happy way listening to a favorite song. My pelvic floor is often heavy - I couldn’t really imagine what that would feel like until now. Baby is moving around regularly all day and I can tell he’s running out of room!

Rants/Raves: today my dermatologist told me that I look small for 35 weeks 😑 Baby won’t be huge, but he’ll be normal, and I have a long torso so it sits differently on me. why do people comment like that??

    Questions: Natm

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do you were pregnant? Omg I can’t WAIT to lay flat on my back! Also, eventually, taking long walks again. I can do it now but everything will hurt afterwards. I’ll probably also get a bunch of sushi just because I can.

    Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: just had a growth scan, hematology this afternoon and OB check up next tuesday
How are you feeling?: physically, still feeling good. The pressure on my bladder recently is out of control though! We are officially in fetal growth restriction territory now, which has me feeling a bit like a failure to be honest. I'm just very frustrated that I still am not gaining weight, and it has baby boy measuring smaller than he should be. I'm constantly wondering if there is some other health condition preventing me from gaining weight because I feel like i am eating all that I possibly can (and the last few weeks, eating much more unhealthy snacks/fatty foods than my norm) but the scale will not change.
Rants/Raves: getting the house and nursery set up for baby has been so much fun. Our tuxedo kitty seems to think all of the new baby products are for him though.. its pretty adorable, but I'm praying he gets along with baby!
As wonderful as it is getting to see baby every week at ultrasound appts, 2-3 appts every week and new concerns being raised constantly is becoming a bit mentally exhausting and draining. I probably should've waited a few hours before filling this out because right now my mood is just a little down 😞
Questions: do you feel it's necessary to have two car seats for your newborn (one for mom one for dad)? I've been told a couple times by family/friends that we will want to have two, but we only have one right now, and each have a base for our cars.. I feel like we can make that work just fine, but I'm letting people get in my head.
GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)?
Eat SUSHIIIII! lay on my belly! And shower baby with a million kisses every day 🥺 cannot wait to smooch his little cheeks 💙💙💙
  • @jaclyn-ak we only had one car seat for my first and it was one that stayed in the car (Graco Turn2me rotating car seat).  My husband had her most of the time so we put it in his car but anytime I needed to go anywhere with her I would just take his car and he would take mine if he needed.  We even had an extra one from his sister but only used it once when his car had to be in the shop for a couple of days.  We could have technically just moved the one we had but since we had the extra one decided not to.
  • @jaclyn-ak We’re also just doing one car seat with two bases. We got an infant car seat (Chico key fit 35) specifically so it’s easier to take out of the car and attach to the stroller, so I can’t imagine why we’d need a second car seat. We can use that few hundred $$ for something else! 😂

Regarding your weight concerns, that does sound very stressful. Of course I’m not a medical professional, but I’m wondering, have you had your thyroid checked? Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) can cause unexplained weight loss, and thyroid levels can go haywire during and after pregnancy. I have Hashimoto’s, which causes hypothyroid (underactive), which is the opposite, but I did have a period last year when my meds were off and my thyroid levels went hyper, and it was wild. If you decide to get checked, they should look at TSH, T3 and T4, and you could ask them to check for antibodies too in case there’s a larger issue behind it (like Grave’s disease, which causes hyperthyroidism). I don’t want to scare you, just some thoughts! Thankfully thyroid issues are totally manageable if that’s the case.

Upcoming Appointments: routine midwife appointment tomorrow

How are you feeling?: very pregnant lol but overall I am feeling pretty good. I have noticed that I will have new symptoms that make me feel really pregnant and uncomfortable but then I acclimate and the symptoms don't seem as bad after a week or so. I am both wanting time to slow down so I can feel more prepared for baby girl's arrival and also ready for her to get here!

Rants/Raves: we just moved into our new house and it's a mess. I just don't have the energy or motivation to unpack and get everything put away. I am definitely feeling overwhelmed and I think a little frozen by the tasks. I wish I had the "nesting" energy that everyone talks about!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)?

I AM SO EXCITED TO SLEEP ON MY STOMACH!
  • @ isha - that's a great suggestion about looking into thyroid issues! I keep googling to see what could be causing the lack of weight gain, and thyroid issues is something ive come across a lot, but have not specifically had checked yet. I'm definitely going to ask my doctor at my next appt to get her thoughts

Also... 100% with you about saving money that would be spent on a second car seat and spending it on something else. These car seats ain't cheaaaap, and it doesn't feel worth it for a second car seat that baby will outgrow so fast

    Team blue/pink/green: baby girl ♥️

Upcoming Appointments: not until 12/27 for final biweekly appt and positional ultrasound

How are you feeling?: mostly good. I’m having a similar experience to @bcml adapting to symptoms as they come. But the recent constipation and GI upset has been unpleasant, NGL. I mean, our organs are all smooshed out of whack so I guess it makes sense lol. Surprised that I seem to still sleep well about 4-5 nights/week. Waiting to lose that luxury soon 😂

Rants/Raves: we had our growth scan last week because my fundal height had been several weeks behind and were very lucky to discover baby girl measuring in the 51st percentile and amniotic fluid was also all good. Again, I think my organs may be paying the price and getting totally smooshed LOL

Questions: anybody know how we can best protect against and or recover from diastasis recti? I’ve noticed some coning and am hoping I’m not screwed.

GTKY: Is there something that you are excited to do after the baby gets here that you couldn't do while you were pregnant (ex. Eating something we couldn't have, certain types of exercise, seeing below your belly lol)?

oh yes haha: running (or just walking up stairs without getting winded lol), sleeping on my belly, eating raw tuna/sashimi, drinking a margarita
  • @bcml i relate 100% to wanting to slow down time for a bit, but also being so excited for baby to get here!
And your comment about being in the new house and feeling overwhelmed by the task of unpacking everything... as long as you have some key spaces set up for baby and cleared out from boxes, try not to stress over it too much! It will all get done in time, and it doesnt need to be perfect before baby gets here 💕 the more important thing is making sure that YOU are getting rest and feeling good for baby's arrival

@fk18 i love hearing that baby is PERFECTLY sized despite a smaller bump. I'm projecting my own experience here but... im sure you've gotten comments on bump size (like I have) that can be upsetting or mess with your head. I'm so happy to hear your baby is perfectly on track for your due date even though you may be carrying a little differently than "the norm". I feel the same about internal organs paying the price.. baby boy was putting crazy pressure on my lungs and ribs very early on
  • @jaclyn-ak, YES! Just yesterday a guy at my work who I see rarely asked upfront “are you pregnant?” At nearly 35 weeks, what the hell else do you think is going on here?!? Also, what if I wasn’t? Hahah what an idiot. Agreed that lungs, intestines, bladder, and stomach seem to be suffering most for me. At this point my fundal height is more than 4 weeks behind and I just don’t know what else I can do :/
  • @strongishmom It's amazing the comments from strangers AND the uninvited touching of the belly! All of my friends and family have all been respectful and complimentary, but it's the strangers or people I barely know that will make comments and/or rub my belly without my consent - do they not think that's weird to go up and rub someone's belly they don't know? lol. At 7.5-8 months, I was getting a lot of "wow, you're giving birth soon" or "you're due any day now" when in reality I was still 8-10 weeks away from my due date!
  • @jaclyn-ak I'm a first time mom as well and going back and forth on the car seat question too. We currently just have one car seat and stroller system, with the base installed in the main vehicle. The ones we got we will use "locally", but we plan on getting a second car seat + stroller set that we will use when traveling (flying) with baby (all of our parent friends rave about the Doona). We're putting that off until later, though, when we've gotten into a routine w/ baby and are ready to travel with him, around 3+ mos out. We also got a car seat where it can be safely installed in a seat w/ or w/o a base, good for "urban" living but also so we don't have to take the base in/out of the main vehicle.
