Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Other ways to go about feeding my 11 month old

My baby is 11 months old he doesn’t use a spoon, he won’t hold a bottle and he’s not the best on textures. The house hold I live in well anything and everything I do for and with my kids is wrong. So how should I go about feeding my 11 month olid???

dr said he should get only 20oz in 24 hrs and I should up his 8oz of baby food, I do exactly that and everyone thinks I’m over feeding him if I up it to 10/12 oz of baby food

  • I'm not too sure how to help you, but know that some baby do eat a lot.
Do you mean 8oz per meal?
If this can help you visualize the quantity of food so you can follow your gut, this is an example with my daughter at around 12 months old :
-Drinking between 20-24oz in 24h. Doctor also wanted us to limit her drink intake at 20oz per day, but she's a good eater so we discarded his comment.
We started with puree at 6mo and slowly transition to solids at around 8mo, so those are portions of solid food below (not puree) :
-Breakfast : 1/2 scramble egg, 1/3 cup ham, 1/8 cup of potatoes, 1/4-1/2 banana
-Snack : 1/4-1/2 apple, about 20g of cheeze
-Lunch : 1/2-2/3 cup of homemade meat and vegetables sauce with shell pasta (they are easy to grasp compare to other noodles), 1/4-1/2 banana
-Snack : 1/4-1/2 pear, about 30-40g of yogurt, pieces of a toast
-Diner : 1/3 cup roasted chicken, 1/4 cup cooked sweet peas, 1/8 cup cooked carrots, 1/8 cup of rice.
She is not the biggest eater I have seen (some of her peers eat double what she eats), but it can still give you an idea. Another example, she could down 4oz of puree as a snack, no problem.
