50% effaced, 31 weeks

in 3rd Trimester
been having some irregular contractions and cramping, nothing crazy. 

doc wanted to do a fetal fibronectin test which came back negative. but being 50% effaced (cervix closed still) is there still a chance of early delivery? has anyone else been thru this? not knowing what could happen is so mentally painful 😩

    There is zero way to tell when you will deliver.  I walked around dilated at 4 for 3.5 weeks before labor started.  Best wishes!

    Sad to report the same as stated above. There’s no sure fire way to know when you’ll deliver other than a hunch and when you actually go into labor. With my first I had no signs no contractions wasn’t dilated or effaced and my water broke at 36 weeks spontaneously. With my second I was dilated to a 4.5 and 50-60% effaced from 34 weeks to my induction at 39weeks and 4days with no labor symptoms.
