Hi everyone. My baby is 16 weeks old and since About 6 weeks old she’s been very restless while sleeping through the second part of the night (after her middle of the night wake for feed.
she sleeps like a rock the first half. Maybe with a few grunts and slight wakes here and there. Normal sleeping baby stuff. Then when she starts to wake we usually catch it at the right time and feed her while she’s half asleep. When she’s done with her feed she settles almost immediately (usually in 1-2 minutes) and is back asleep. And then an hour later it’s restless town! It keeps us up for the rest of the night but she’s asleep completely. But it also can’t be very restful sleep either. Because she does do slight wakings and starts to dry if her pacifier falls out.
How do I make her more comfortable during the second half? This happened before we co slept, while we co slept and now she’s in her dock a tot. It never got worse or improved through all of that.
Re: Restless Baby sleeping at night
If your little one does slight wakings and starts to cry if her pacifier falls out, consider reducing reliance on it as it might be causing more sleep disruption than comfort. You could try encouraging your baby to fall asleep without the pacifier during naps using soothing methods like gentle patting, shushing, or a white noise machine. Then gradually transition away from using pacifier for bedtime.
Hope it helps!
