  How are things going? Any questions?:  well, aunt Flo came yesterday so I'm sad another cycle went by without getting my BFP. Otherwise I'm keeping busy which helps distract from my disappointment 😞 

  
  

  R/R: I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving! I'm in charge of potatoes, mac and cheese and pie so I'm pulling out my favorite recipes 😋

  @peppyj9 Sorry to hear the disappointing news. I’ve found that letting myself really wallow—even if just for a day or two—helps the feelings pass and lets me reset for the new cycle. Unrelated, but: have you always done mac ‘n cheese for Thanksgiving? I’d never heard of it before this year but now it seems like everyone’s doing it and I’m wondering if it’s a new trend or if my family has just always been missing out 😂

  How are things going? Any questions?: Welp, had my initial cycle visit Monday and the cycle got cancelled the same day 🫠 I had one over-eager follicle that (1) was likely to pop off before we get back from our travels and (2) was unlikely to be joined by any of the other antral follicles since it is now dominant. Apparently this is pretty common post-bc. So we’ll sit out this cycle and see what December brings!
  
  I was very down yesterday, but I think I always knew in my heart this cycle was a reach. Glad for a little time just me and my hormones, without any interventions.

  
  

  R/R: We’re flying to California today and literally an hour before we needed to head to the airport our cat sitter backed out due to a family emergency. I don’t have a lot of close friends here yet but I popped off frantic texts to every acquaintance I thought might be game to help, and I couldn’t believe the outpouring of support we got! A coworker is taking care of the kitties and I got a reminder that we’ve met some good people that I still hope to turn into good friends. So maybe this upheaval was a blessing in disguise 💛

  @aisleofviewtwo thanks, I allowed myself to wallow a bit and now that my period is coming to an end I'm hyping myself up for this cycle. I'm sorry you're Benched for the time being but it might be nice to give yourself a little break and enjoy your travels. That's so great that you got an outpouring of support! I'm often surprised too at how willing people are to help if you just ask. As for the mac and cheese at Thanksgiving, I never had it growing up, but after high school when I moved out of state and embraced friendsgiving, I discovered that it's a common Thanksgiving dish in black households. And it's such a comforting food it really fits in perfectly at Thanksgiving so I've been including it ever since, and I'm usually the one to bring it 😁 so I've indirectly made it a staple for several people's Thanksgiving meals over the years! All that to say, I don't think it's so much a trend since it's always been a thing in some cultures/communities, it's just finally caught on for the rest of us. 😅  and I realize this is racially stereotypical, but I also feel like many would agree, black cooks just know their way around mac and cheese! I've found a few recipes that I enjoy and they are "black folk" recipes. I worry that I'm sticking my foot in my mouth and sounding horrible, but I just don't know how else to say it as this is how I would explain it to any of my friends. But I apologize in advance if I've offended anyone at all.
