For those already mamas in Brooklyn/NYC— at what point did you need to start planning for childcare? Also, welcoming any feedback on nanny vs. daycare for infants, suggestions for care options and their costs.
FYI, we live in Boerum Hill and are due May 6th— plan to take 3-4 months off, so child care starting in August/September 2019. Thanks!
Re: NYC Moms: planning for child care
The environment is warm and welcoming, and you can feel how much the staff genuinely cares about the kids. They took the time to get to know not just my child but also me as a parent, which really eased my nerves. My little one loves the activities—they’re always coming home with stories about crafts they made or songs they learned. The balance between structured learning and free play is fantastic.
I also appreciate how communicative they are; I get updates throughout the day, so I never feel out of the loop. Knowing my child is happy, safe, and cared for has made all the difference in my work-life balance. If you’re considering Zusin, I’d say definitely schedule a visit. It’s been such a positive experience for us.
