How are things going? Any questions?: My acupuncturist is so sweet, she was so befuddled the transfer didn't take and spent my whole session brainstorming holistic changes I could make to increase our chances. So in other news, I guess I'm gluten-free for the foreseeable future (in hopes of reducing any inflammation that might have gotten in the way). I'll manage I'm sure, but it's gonna require some revamping, pasta and bread are two of my favorite food groups. Any favorite recipes that are either accidentally or intentionally gluten free?

R/R: Ugh. We're flying out to do Thanksgiving with my in-laws next week, and during a planning text exchange on Saturday my MIL just dropped a casual "since there won't be any kiddos" in the chat. 95% of me believes this was a totally innocent, accidental comment...but it's still having a hard time talking down the 5% of me that is raging and ready for fisticuffs :s

  • @aisleofviewtwo Taco Tuesdays are always easy to make gluten free! Corn tacos and tortilla chips. 😁 I think Indian food and Japanese food have a lot of gluten free examples too. Just use tamari in place of soy sauce for Japanese recipes.Β
  • @aisleofviewtwo as an add to Japanese foods being gotten free, let's not forget that rice noodles are and can largely satisfy a pasta craving. And, since more and more people are gluten free, food companies are making alternatives more easily available. You can find a decent amount of gluten free bread options at any grocery store. I've been looking into an anti-inflammatory diet myself. Not for any particular reason but because it seems beneficial. As for your MIL'S text, I'm sorry that happened. Without knowing her or if she has a habit of thinly vieled insults/guilt trips, I'd have to agree that it was innocent, though thoughtless, assuming she knows your fertility journey. It's frustrating getting comments like that because even when it's innocent, it's like "seriously? Pay attention to who you're talking to" πŸ˜‘Β

Timing/CS:Β  our timing this cycle was -2 and 0 so hopefully we got lucky!

How are things going? Any questions?:Β  things are going as well as they can for now. Getting into the holiday season. I'm looking around for a fertility doctor to see in the New Year if we don't get pregnant this cycle or next. Not entirely sure what the next steps would be. One friend did I think it's canned IUI? And another did IVF and another also did IVF but with a donor egg. So I know there are options, just very new into looking beyond natural methods.Β

R/R: this is not a true rant, really, just whiny. I have a ton of Christmas decorations already and yet every year I swear they come out with new and seemingly better stuff! Every year I struggle with not buying new decor and it's shoved in your face so I just have to keep reminding myself I already have enough, don't feed into over consumption, etc. But it's all so cute! 😩
  • @peppyj9 For me they recommended going through IUI before jumping to IVF but it will depend on what your docs say. IUI worked for us on the third try and it was thankfully much less expensive than if we had to do IVF. This time around I'm trying naturally again, we'll see if we have to go back to a fertility doc.Β

Also I totally know what you mean about Christmas decorations. I keep saying, next year we won't buy anymore. πŸ˜‚

Timing/CS:Β  Β I think our timing was good this cycle too, same as you @peppyj9, -2 and 0. I actually ended up getting a good LH surge, so that was helpful. Sometimes my LH stays really low.Β

How are things going? Any questions?:Β  Things are going alright. I'm determined to do out for a run today, lol.Β

    R/R: None this week
  • @ferret22 sounds like your timing was great and during an LH surge! Here's hoping! 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻 did you make it for your run? Also, I caved and bought a pink Christmas tree cookie jar (so cute!) and couple decorative Christmas pillows. The pillows were shaped like a peppermint candy and a Snowflake and I just couldn't resist! πŸ˜…

@peppyj9 No run 😭, the spouse got sick so I've been trying to keep up with work and caring for the little one. There's just never time. 🀦 I'm sick too so would probably be too short of breath to run well. Oh well, I'll try again when we're better!

Those decorations sound super cute. πŸ˜„
  • @ferret22 hope you all feel better soon!Β
