How are you feeling?: I feel like baby has shifted off my bladder so that's been a huge development, only waking up 2-3 times to pee and not 6+! I feel like a whale most days though, and by the end of the day my feet/ankles are so swollen. Trying to stay positive, and really take note of all his little kicks and movements, knowing this baby could be here before I know it and this will likely be my last pregnancy.

Rants/Raves: Carpal tunnel. God I hope my hands go back to normal right after having this baby.

    Questions: natm

oh gosh this is hard. Pregnant me would probably say cheesy scrambled eggs as that's the only thing that I've managed some days haha. Maybe chicken? because that can be cooked in a variety of ways? although I love carbs so I'm tempted to say bread haha.

How are you feeling?: We had the baby shower this past Saturday.  It was just a small party at our house but my husband and I set everything up.  I definitely over did it.  Sunday I was feeling it.  Also, yesterday my indigestion came back with a vengeance and I had heartburn all night last night.  Still have a little indigestion this morning but so far it seems better than yesterday.

Rants/Raves: My daughter was getting over being sick this weekend but she is also teething and she's been constipated.  So she has been super crabby lately.  I wasn't able to get anything done before the shower until she went down for her nap.  That was an hour before it started.  So we were still setting things up when people started arriving.  Then it was a whirlwind.  I realized after my husband finished cleaning up that I didn't take any picture.  I was really sad about it.  Thankfully my mother-in-law took a few pictures while I was opening presents.  I'm still a little sad about it but at least I have those.

GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
@kmtz89 so the first thing I though of was a sunny-side egg because I love them and can't have them right now.  I felt the same way with my daughter.  Also salami.  But I feel like I would get sick of eggs if that was all I could eat.  Also, I wasn't sure if this is just a food item or like a meal.  If it is a food item, I would probably say cheese but if it is a meal I would say chicken paprikash.

Upcoming Appointments: went to the OB yesterday, growth scan tomorrow
How are you feeling?: meh. Physically I'm feeling good. Mentally/emotionally I'm having a hard time right now
Rants/Raves: ive been complaining about the same thing for too long. my weight will not increase, and yesterday was the first time that my doctor raised concerns about the size of my bump. It is measuring 3cm smaller than it should be at 31 weeks. I'm just very very antsy for the growth scan tomorrow. I'm trying to stay positive.. I know my bump has measured small throughout pregnancy and baby has weighed/measured right on track at the other scans... but the doctor started talking about possible fetal growth restriction and needing additional growth scans if he is measuring small tomorrow and it has me very upset. I started adding protein shakes into my diet so I'm hoping that will help my weight and bump, but I'm just frustrated feeling like I'm eating so much and not seeing the scale change. Gaining weight while pregnant should be the easiest thing in the world to do, and I can't do it for some reason. It's just upsetting.
    Questions: None right now
GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ignoring nutritional value... I don't think i could ever get sick of pasta. Either that or sushi
  • @jaclyn-ak I know your levels were low for the 1 hour glucose test, did you have to do the 3 hour glucose test?  I'm wondering if that is affecting your weight gain.
Also, even though I was gaining weight right on track with my first, she always measured small.  My doctor never mentioned fetal growth restriction though (at least not that I remember).  She was born at 6lbs 3oz and she was/is perfectly healthy.  One positive about needing additional growth scans is that you get to see him more which can be reassuring and it's good that they will be monitoring it more closely so that if there is a problem they will know sooner rather than later.  I feel like doctors have to bring up the negative things just to cover themselves in case something happens.  That way they can say that they told you it was a possibility.  I'm sorry that you are having a hard time mentally and emotionally.  I hope your growth scam goes well tomorrow and you get some peace of mind.

How are you feeling?: Tired and achy. Lower back pain is a new symptom this morning.

Rants/Raves: Pelvic pain, heartburn and carpal tunnel are just adding onto my everyday aches and pains. I will rave that baby is wiggling around and it is very reassuring after a busy day.

Questions: Do pregnancy symptoms typically stay as is or get worse in the 3rd trimester? I am noticing I am feeling more of everything just when I thought I was getting used to my 2nd trimester pains.

GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

    >Homemade Mac and Cheese would probably be my choice, love the flavor and ways it can be prepared.

    Team blue/pink/green: Twin boys!

    Upcoming Appointments: Monday OB appt

How are you feeling?: So tired lol--these boys are getting heavy! But that is a praise in itself. Trying to stay positive and remember that the pain is temporary and with a purpose. But regardless, third trimester is no joke! I've been noticing more swelling in my hands/a little bit in my feet which is new. Signs to rest more, I guess, which is reinforced by the fact that my regular walking routine is getting harder and harder to maintain. Trying to figure out a balance between getting enough rest/not overdoing it and not just sitting on my butt for the rest of this pregnancy. Praying these boys stay in for at least 4 more weeks!

Rants/Raves: LOVE feeling their movement! I feel like the size and frequency of their movements have increased dramatically in the past week or so. It's still so wild to be that they're really in there honestly.

Questions: Anyone have a good stretching routine they're liking? I know I should be stretching more, but all the up/down and some positions just feel awful right now...I know these babies aren't going to just like fall out of me or anything, but man sometimes it feels like it.

GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hmmmm probably like chicken or potatoes with how many different ways there are to prepare them.
  • @kamays54 thank you so much for sharing that 💕 it's giving me a lot of comfort hearing stories about other women who either birthed smaller babies or had fetal growth restriction, and their babies were perfectly healthy and happy. Even my doctor yesterday said she had FGR with her first born, and the baby was born very healthy. Im super antsy for the growth scan tomorrow and praying it goes well, but reminding myself that even if he ends up being small for his gestational age, he will hopefully be perfectly okay.

The OB did not have me do the 3 hour glucose test.. since I was very close to the "normal" range and glucose in my blood work two weeks prior was normal, they were not concerned. I wondered the same thing though... if not gaining weight could have any relation to the low glucose or even lovenox.

    Upcoming Appointments: this Friday

How are you feeling?: So tired. soooooo so tired. On the weekends I'm sleeping close to 10 hours per night but I can't seem to make that happen during the week. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and am just... awake for an hour. I can't believe I'm going to keep getting bigger lol.

Rants/Raves: Feeling baby move continues to be a delight. Also I think we settled on a name!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Apples! Or bagels.
  • Question Priscilla:

For daytime sleep struggles, consider establishing a calming pre-sleep routine to help your baby wind down. Look for sleep cues such as rubbing eyes, yawning, or fussiness, and try to put her down before she becomes overtired. Swaddling, gentle rocking, or white noise can also be effective in creating a conducive sleep environment.

Regarding your pregnancy symptoms in the third trimester, it’s common for some symptoms to intensify as your body continues to change and adapt. However, every pregnancy is unique; while some women experience worsening discomforts during this time, others may find certain symptoms improve. Listening to your body and consulting with your healthcare provider can help you manage these changes effectively.

You’re doing an amazing job navigating both motherhood and pregnancy! If you have any further questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
  • Question Kendall:

It's completely understandable to feel discomfort during stretching, especially as your body goes through changes. A good routine can make a significant difference in how you feel. Consider starting with gentle stretches that focus on relaxation rather than pushing yourself too hard. Simple movements like neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, and seated forward bends can be very effective without causing strain.

Also, incorporating deep breathing while you stretch can help ease tension and make the experience more enjoyable. You might even find some online resources or videos specifically designed for your stage that could provide guidance and support. Remember, it's all about listening to your body and finding what feels good for you!

Baby is the size of a (an): large bundle of asparagus? Lol

    Team blue/pink/green: girl!

    Upcoming Appointments: Monday

How are you feeling?:  goodness me, physically feeling ROUGH. I think I was so distracted with the shower last week that I didn’t realize how much is still changing in my body. I have officially reached the point where I can’t see my nether regions and taking a bath, running/hiking/going up the stairs, sleeping, you name it, is a struggle. I’ve also noticed some coning and I’m worried about what that will mean for my ab muscles postpartum. It never ends! Lol.

Emotionally, I’m grateful for minimal complications and getting so excited to meet her. But also terrified and overwhelmed by preparing for “the 4th trimester” and beginning to grieve the comfortable little life my husband and I have.

Rants/rave: Had some extra stress from the winds blowing over our fence from the crazy storm we had up here, but I’m less bothered by that than I would have thought.

    Questions:  NATM

GTKY: Since there are some big food holidays coming up...if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Like @jaclyn-ak, it’s pasta. No question lol.

Also, I’ve been MIA from The Bump for a few weeks and just have to say coming back to it has been so helpful! Knowing I’m not alone in these challenges (I relate to all of you!) is really therapeutic. Again @jaclyn-ak, know that I’m also measuring behind on fundal height and had a low blood sugar score! They are monitoring and I’m honestly hoping for some extra growth scans. I totally feel you with that anxiety.
  • @fk18 i hope you and baby are thriving and the pregnancy is going as smoothly as possible!! I do find it incredibly comforting finding someone else with similar struggles and worries though (and it's an added bonus that we have the same due date). Did your doctor have you do any additional testing or suggest diet modifications for the low glucose or smaller bump size?
They've asked me to do weekly ultrasounds now. I was devasted at first.. baby is in the 11th percentile and very close to FGR so they want to make sure they are monitoring closely. As crushed as I am by it, there were some positives to come out of this last scan... the placenta and blood flow looked very healthy, and we got to see baby smiling at my voice and practicing drinking. If they do have you stsrt doing additional scans, im sure you're going to love being able to check in and see baby's face a few more times before she's truly out here.

Also.... I 100% hear you on the 4th trimester scaries, and saying goodbye to the carefree life of just being husband and wife.
  • @jaclyn-ak, they haven’t made the decision yet on more frequent scans, I think because I have seen three different providers over my last 1.5 months of visits 🤦‍♀️. Baby girl measured in a healthy range at anatomy scan so maybe they are going off that? They have mentioned a growth scan, though, so it’s on their radar. But tomorrow I see my primary OB and I’m going to advocate for more scans; I hope it will offer peace of mind and hearing yours smiled at your voice melts my heart 😭.
