Weekly Check-in 11/11

Re: Weekly Check-in 11/11

  • Physically, feeling pretty good. Mostly tired. I already find myself getting annoyed at my toddler when he’s bouncing off the walls or misbehaving, because all I want to do is rest and sleep. Just reminding myself that he has no idea what’s going on and I’ll just need to power through. And get rest whenever I can! My husband is traveling for work this week so I’ll be solo parenting, and I’m just hoping it goes okay!

Mentally/emotionally, I definitely feel nervous waiting for my first appt, but I’m not as focused on it like I was the first few weeks of my first pregnancy. I only took 2 pregnancy tests! Compared to last time I took at least 5 haha. It will be nice though to get confirmation that all is well.

  • The nausea has started on and off for me… I find that if I eat every 2-3 it keeps it at bay though. I’m super tired and can’t wait for my first appt to confirm all of this is real!
  • I’m honestly so stressed, I had a transvaginal ultrasound today and they found my gestational sac but no yolk or fetal pole. I have had irregular cycles so my doctor told me it may just be too early. I’ve got another appointment booked for the 20th but I can’t stop doom scrolling.

I want everything to be alright so badly

Fingers crossed it is all too early yet and baby is happily snuggled in, growing.
  • @peach93 Sending out all the good vibes to you. It really is SO tough at this early stage. I think that’s why this community on the bump is so helpful, bc you can share with others going through a similar thing, and get support 🫶
  • I'm 7 weeks today and soooo queasy. Drank some vitamin B tea and sucking on a lemon ginger drop currently. I had ultra bad morning sickness with my daughter and my miscarriage, and none at all with my son. Maybe this is a sign it's a girl? Although DH last night dreamed it was a boy, and on Sunday, I was feeling sooo bloated that I dreamed it was twins.  :D  There's like a less than 1% chance of that, though.

My ultrasound is a week from today, and I'm just dying to see that all is well in there. o:)

I already find myself getting annoyed at my toddler
Oh my goodness, I got so annoyed at my kids the other day and my husband rightfully got onto me, because they weren't doing anything wrong, and then I melted down into tears apologizing and going, "I don't know why I'm crying!" He was sweet about it.
I’m super tired and can’t wait for my first appt to confirm all of this is real!
Feels like such a long wait from BFP to first appt!

Sounds like you just ovulated later than expected. It's still so early. That's got to be a hard wait for the next ultrasound though. :-/
  • I appreciate all of your kind words, I really love having this little community and will keep you all updated.

    We got this💕
  • I’m feeling pretty good! Tired, heartburn and bloated like crazy! I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past so I have a doctors appointment Thursday even though it’s early. Praying everything is ok and little babe is healthy!
  • Basically I have been feeling overwhelmed by all the online ads I’ve started getting for strollers and cribs and “the right” prenatal vitamins. Anyone else?! I’ve never had a baby before and it all looks very confusing. Also I’m just taking the store-brand prenatals and hoping it is ok- the dr office didn’t tell me any specifics when I called, so I didn’t want to break the bank unnecessarily. Trying to stay calm and breathe and focus on getting through each day.

@peach93 I’m really sorry you’re dealing with that stress and concern, I fall into doomscrolling really easily too. I’m sure it feels so difficult waiting for your next visit. Wishing you well. 🫶
  • Agree with this!! FTM over here and last night I was expressing the anxiety of finding out so early to my husband. He was asking how we can best cope with it and I talked to him about these forums. Seeing everyone’s introductions and responses brought me so much ease!!
  • You don't need half the stuff that you think you need for a baby! All the lists are overwhelming, but really you just need the essentials and the rest you'll figure out depending on what your baby likes/dislikes. One thing that another mom swears by your kid might hate.
  • It’s crazy how quickly the ads started! I had asked my doctor about what prenatals were best and was told anything with 800 mcg of folic acid would be fine- she very pointedly told me that I didn’t need anything fancy 😂

  • @watermelonsunshine @emmaleekinsley I remember how overwhelming it was with my first trying to decide which brand/etc to get for all the baby items. If there is anything that you can get as a hand me down, take it! A free stroller/bassinet/etc is always better than buying something new, regardless of what brand/type it is. Also, in my last bump group, we created “Product Spotlight” threads for each of the major baby items. The seasoned moms chimed in with their suggestions/what worked for them/what didn’t work. We can absolutely do this for our group! Ultimately, it’s all trial and error, and you find which product/brand works best for you and baby once they arrive!
  • That all sounds reassuring, thanks 😊 I feel like half my friends have school-age kids and are out of the baby stages, and half my friends don’t have children yet. It’s kind of funny but I’ll be hoping some of them have useable hand-me-downs haha. @emmaleekinsley you’re not alone!

  • My body: Getting a little peckish. Should probably think about eating here in the next hour or so.

My body 5 minutes later: You have 30 seconds to eat something or suffer the wrath of Lord Vomitmore.
  • I unfortunately have some sad news 😞 I had a miscarriage earlier this week. My husband and I are doing okay but feeling really bummed since we were so excited to have a second baby. I'm grateful it happened early and had no other complications rather than it happening later in my pregnancy. We plan on taking a couple months to heal and regroup, then start trying again in the new year. Hope everyone else has happy healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries 💕
  • @babywebber I am so very sorry to hear this. I wish you healing and the very best of luck in the future. Take good care of yourself 💗🫶
  • I honestly have been feeling kind of frustrated my doctor appointment that goes over my lab results has been canceled twice and I have always had low iron. So I just really want to know if I have anemia so I can do something about it.

I’m so so sorry for your loss, I wish you the best 💕
  • I don’t have any good words but I’m really sorry for your loss @babywebber :( May peace and comfort be with you and your husband.
  • @babyweber15 sending you and your husband so much love. 😞❤️
  • Had our first ultrasound at 6w3d, there was a little scare because the heartbeat the tech found was too low. Thankfully the doctor came in to double check and immediately found the beeps heartbeat at 125bpm.
