Pediatrician

Have any of you scheduled meet and greets or chosen pediatricians already? Or any stms+ that have a great relationship with their kids’ doctors? We finally got a meet and greet scheduled for when I’m 38+4, and I’m wondering if there are any questions that I should be sure to ask.

Re: Pediatrician

  • If it’s your first baby you’re going to have a lot of questions at most well-child visits, so it’s helpful to ask how many minutes are alotted for well-child appointments.

Ask about sick visits and if it would always be them that sees your baby or someone else in the practice?

Ask if they have lactation consultants in office.

Ask how familiar they are with tongue-ties and providing quick diagnosis and treatment options.

A lot of picking a good pedi is about bedside manner (interaction with your baby and with you in response to your questions). Do they seem rushed, distracted, bored? I’d also be interested in average wait times. I’ve heard of some pedi offices being behind schedule for hours as a regular occurrence!

    Good luck!
