Re: Weekly Check In 11/4

  • DD / Weeks + Days:  May 21st / 11 weeks 5 days

FTM/STM/TTM+: (I’m not sure what this is. This is my first time posting a check in)

Baby is the size of a (an):  Lime !!

Team blue/pink/green: Will hopefully find out next weeks yay!

Upcoming Appointments: Nov 22nd will be 20wk appointment

How are you feeling?: it’s a mixed bag! Sometimes excited/happy, however honestly I mostly feel overwhelmed, scared, anxious and it makes me feel guilty that I’m not overjoyed everyday like I expected I would be.

Rants/Raves: Almost done with my first trimester and I’ve been so tired/emotional and feeling like I’ll never get energy back again. I know I’m supposed to give myself grace and rest since my body is literally growing a human. It’s just sometimes discouraging to feel like my body isn’t my own right now. Hoping second trimester will bring more energy and happiness!

Questions: What prenatals is everyone taking? Are the expensive prenatals (ritual/needed) worth the price? Also, where is everyone making their baby registries? Just one or multiple?

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? - early bird because I cannot sleep!! Very very tired all the time however I’m constantly tossing and turning all night.

How are you feeling?: good! I’ve been feeling more energized the last few days, and my moodiness has improved slightly! Still anxious but excited for today!

Rants/Raves: getting SO excited for the 2nd trimester. I can’t wait to tell more people and start seeing my little bump!

Questions: Any advice on telling your boss? I’m nervous how it’ll all be taken since I’ve seen only been at my company since May!

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? Im a late morning bird. I need to go to bed so early but still sleep till 8am hahah😂

  • DD / Weeks + Days: 14+2
    FTM/STM/TTM+: 1st !

Baby is the size of a (an):  I honestly can’t remember

Team blue/pink/green: Blue! NIPT came back low risk today! We’re not telling others yet, just keeping to ourselves for now.

Upcoming Appointments: 2nd prenatal clinic visit later this week.

How are you feeling?: The nausea is improving steadily, but I’m getting congested…not sure if it’s my regular winter dust allergy flare being inside more or pregnancy rhinitis. Overall, not bad.

Rants/raves: My sister told me she’s pregnant too! Excited!

DD / Weeks + Days: 12w 5d! My midwife informed me today that from my dating ultrasound, my DD has now been moved forward from May 15th to May 14th.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): Plum!

    Team blue/pink/green: Green!

Upcoming Appointments: My next scheduled appointment with my midwife isn't till Dec 10th

How are you feeling?: I feel like my energy levels have slowly been improving but I've definitely been reminded this past week how the previous days actions can affect the next. On Saturday I had a hard food day, nothing was appealing, wasn't hungry and just all around had a hard time eating. My husband and I went to a local outlet mall on Sunday, while in our second store I was all of a sudden drained and super low energy. I actually had to find a bench outside the store. At first I was really confused around why, I had breakfast and had gotten a lot of sleep the night before but then I realized it was probably because I ate so little the day before.

Rants/Raves: I had my first ultrasound last week on Thursday!!! My expectation on what the appointment would be like vs my experience were very different. It wasn't bad per say, just different. I think mainly it was because what I've seen in movies/tv and shared online was more the American and paid version vs what's provided by the health care system in my province (Ontario). The main things were during the bulk of the appointment, my husband had to sit in the waiting room and the tech also said next to nothing to me while doing the scan and I was just laying there staring at the ceiling titles. I was thinking about it after and realized that the tech probably doesn't chat on purpose though to not accidentally give something away. My midwife did tell me that the ultrasound tech would not deliver any results to me, they would be passed along to the midwife who would then update me.

The tech also had to make three attempts, first they said my bladder wasn't full enough so I had to drink more water, then during the second attempt baby was facing forward and they needed me to move around to see if they would shift so they could complete the NT screening test. The problem was though, by the time we got to the third attempt, all the water I had been drinking caught up to me! And of course no matter what I tried to think about, everything went back to water!

The exciting part is now after knowing for 8 weeks, we finally have a couple ultrasound photos and we were able to hear the heartbeat. When I saw my midwife today, she told me it would be a few more weeks until the official NT results would be available but so far off of the ultrasound results, things are within the right ranges and looking good.

Questions: I've had last minute opportunity through work come up that involves some travel. That's why I actually ended up meeting my midwife in person today (my intake appointment was all done over the phone) to have her complete a check up and fill out some medical forms. The travel does include a couple long flights, she told me to wear compression socks, bring lots of snacks and get up and walk the plane isle/stretch multiple times. Does anyone else have experience traveling in their 2nd trimester and recommendations of things you did?

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? Night owl all the way! I've been trying over the years to get better about having an earlier standard "bedtime". I had fallen back into some bad habits around it but 1st trimester exhaustion has been kinda helping in this sense  :D
  • Hi! I’m making two registries - one at a local baby boutique and the other on Amazon. One to support local and ensure we don’t get knock offs of the big expensive stuff I’m really particular on, and then Amazon for smaller available-everywhere/not as fussy things.
  • DD / Weeks + Days: 14 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): Peach

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: 16 week appointment on 11/21

How are you feeling?: Pretty good for right now. I’m starting to wonder how long I will be able to get away with not telling my work. I feel like I can see my bump a lot, but I know it’s probably way more noticeable to me than others who only see me in the office one day a week.

Rants/Raves: I’m not necessarily nauseous but literally mid meal, I will no longer want to see or eat any more of whatever I was just enjoying. Sudden aversions to foods I was just enjoying seem to be a big thing for me this pregnancy.

    Questions: none right now

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? Neither😂 I love my sleep and will be neither an early bird or night owl if given the chance!
  • @knottie224275fabac49d7e prenatal wise, for both pregnancies I have done nothing fancy and just gotten the women’s one-a-day prenatals. They contained everything that was recommended to me to take and I could swallow the pill so I didn’t go any further than that. Registry wise, with my first I did an Amazon and a Target registry. It ended up working great as we had some people who wanted to be able to go to the store to pick out their gift (Target) and others who were out of state and the Amazon registry was great for them.

How are you feeling?: still sick from last week, went to doctor but basically cannot take anything else to help with the cough and congestion

Rants/Raves: I am less tired and nauseous but now I’m worried about her all the time.  Can’t wait to start feeling her move around

    Questions: none

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? Early bird all the way, I go to bed at around 8:30 everyday night!

  • @knottie224275fabac49d7e the FTM/STM means "first time mom" "second time mom" etc

Upcoming Appointments:  OB appointment on Nov 22

How are you feeling?:  I'm actually feeling okay!! Still have waves of nausea, but I've been doing fine at work, eating well again, and even cooking. So that is AWESOME. I am still technically using diclectin meds but will probably keep them til about 20 weeks

Rants/Raves: rave, we totally put up our Christmas tree on November 1. My husband will be working a lot of evenings this month and I told him I need it to be cozy while I'm alone a lot

    Questions:  natm

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl? Early bird. But I do enjoy a late night if I know I have the privilege of a good sleep in the next day.
  • DD / Weeks + Days: May 22, 2025 - 11+6(12 weeks tomorrow!)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): Lime- Peach tomorrow ☺️

Team blue/pink/green: Pink! Found out through our NIPT testing!

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 3rd for our 15w scan

How are you feeling?: Suddenly exhausted all over again!

Rants/Raves: Trying to currently learn how to navigate having a husband(whom is absolutely delightful and SO amazing) and a whole other side of a family for this pregnancy. For my first daughter 14 years ago, I was a young single mom, so it was just my family, as her biological father or his family were never involved. This time, I just want to experience pregnancy and all of the ups and downs with my husband. My family is understanding with that, but this will biologically be the first grandbaby for my in laws, and I just feel smothered. Most of it is hormones, but man, it just irritates me!

BUT- my younger sister, is also currently pregnant at the same time, and she is 2 weeks behind me. So, it is so fun getting to experience pregnancy with your little sister!

Questions: How does everyone else feel so far?!

GTKY: Are you an early bird or a night owl?- currently a sloth morning bird. And only because I have to pee so early, but lay on the couch for a few more hours lol. I go to bed real early these days!
