January 2025 Babies

Moms/dads of 2

Hi guys, so I’m expecting my baby girl in January. And I have a 2 year old boy. Any advice on car rides?
My 2 year old loves to hold toys and have his stuffed animals in the back with him. We kind of have a small car. So my only fear is him hitting or throwing stuff at our newborn. Considering the fact I won’t be able to sit in between them due to not much space. Is this a normal fear to have? How do I avoid this happening? Or am I just thinking too much?
Any advice helps 🫶

  • You know your toddler best. Some are more…spontaneous…than others if you know what i mean🤪 i personally haven’t worried about it but also my toddlers have both been pretty chill which i know is not the norm for all toddlers. In general, it’s not a good idea to have hard toys in the car because in case of a quick stop, its a flying object that could knock someone out. Stuffies i wouldn't worry about. They’re soft and even if your toddler was able to throw it to the baby, most likely it would just land in baby's lap and baby would be just fine. Also kids understand a good deal so have a conversation with him about his toys and set some boundaries about his toys. If they go in baby’s carseat then they have to stay home. Or whatever you decide.
