Baby is the size of a (an): Artichoke? Not a regular unit of measure in my house lol

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan with MFM 10/28

How are you feeling?: So much better nausea-wise but still absolutely run down. (Thanks kids for sharing your colds)

Rants/Raves: DH actually brought up names on his own last night! He doesn't like my top 2 boy names, his boy name we can't use (i have a cousin with that name) and we're both stumped for girl names

Questions: has anyone done home IPL hair removal while pregnant? I bought a kit this summer right before I got my BFP. online is says not to due to increased skin sensitivity and I keep forgetting to ask my OB

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you? Lounging with a good cup(s) of coffee and a book. Or on a beach somewhere with a drink and a book lol

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan in 3 weeks

How are you feeling?: I went back to work after being sick on Wednesday and I felt more like myself, less nauseated these days. And I was hopeful! But this weekend I have been solo with Norah and I feel ABSOLUTELY wiped of all energy. Today Is Canadian thanksgiving (it’s more low-key here) and I can barely get my life together to get DD and I dressed and over there. I have taken 3 naps, which is very unusual for me. I just did blood work so I will see what it says.

Rants/Raves: raves for my DD! We had curriculum night at her school and she started junior kindergarten this year. She’s in a JK/SK split class (she will get her teacher for 2 years, which i love!). I never felt more validated as a parent. She is thriving and the teachers asked how we have been raising her because she’s so awesome. They said she gets along with other students so well, is social, bright, tells them when something is wrong, and helps a lot in the class. Then the said she was a role model for the other kids 😭😭 I was like, “trying to channel my inner 90s parent….” lol. it was nice to hear because she was a little monster at home the first month of school (to be expected with this huge adjustment from daycare preschool class to formal school). And she’s more slow to warm and anxious sometimes, so I love that she’s in her element at school.

Questions: anyone else feeling so drained and miserable?!

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you?
oh man, lounging as well! H and I had taken vacation “date” days together and we would have a lazy morning and then go patio hopping in our neighborhood and get a teeny bit day drunk on margaritas, and then my dad would drop of DD after school, those were awesome days! Otherwise lounging on the couch with coffee and trashy TV, or like you said @ksd20 @ksd20 - a beach or pool with a pina colada and a view!

How are you feeling?: Good other than still extremely tired. Oh and the heartburn.

Rants/Raves: Rave is that we had no major damage from Hurricane Milton! A bunch of oak trees down but the house is intact! Such a relief. Now to help our whole community heal.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you? Right now it would be to wake up in a spotless house with all chores already done, enjoying coffee and then spending the rest of the day going to all of our favorite spots around town.
  • @cortneylynnn so relieved you have no damage!!!

And that kid free day sounds like heaven!
  • Can we just tack this week on to this check in?😅 looks like everyone had a busy week!

    DD / Weeks + Days: 20+2!!!!!!!!!

Baby is the size of a (an): Banana

    Team blue/pink/green: 🩷

Upcoming Appointments: November something? I just made this and already forget lol

How are you feeling?: so relieved after seeing baby at the anatomy scan!

Rants/Raves: how am I half way through this pregnancy!?! I don’t know! But it’s give. Me a burst of energy! Baby has been kicking up a storm and I love it!

Questions: has anyone gotten a prenatal massage? When would be the best time to get one?

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you? I will be having my first ever child free day soon!! I’m so excited! I’m trying to plan it all out so it is my dream day haha. My husbands Mother’s Day gift to me was a massage that I have yet to get. So I’ll be taking a day to go to the ritz spa downtown to get a prenatal massage and lounge by their indoor pool! Ideally I’d be able to sip on some wine/bubbles but I could settle for some sparkling cider. Maybe hit the thrift store on the way home too.
  • @paigemm23
this day sounds heavenly! And yes, let’s do October 7th and 14th weeks here. Wish I could change the name of the thread
  • DD / Weeks + Days: 19 weeks + 1 day

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first time

Baby is the size of a (an): mango or heirloom tomato

    Team blue/pink/green: blueee

Upcoming Appointments: Friday with my OB and then next Thursday is 20 week anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: overall good. Need to stretch daily to keep my hip pain at bay. My stomach has much less capacity and I’m getting full quicker

Rants/Raves: join your local buy nothing group and start stock piling anything baby related people are giving away. Also prenatal yoga is a major amazing thing, I found one locally and loved it for my body and connecting with other people expecting moms

Questions: is honey allowed pregnant? I’ve heard and read super conflicting things

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you? A relaxing morning with a nice big breakfast, lots of puppy playtime, a long walk. Spending time with my partner and having some afternoon reading time, maybe a nap. Just a day with no major responsibilities
  • @eclaire90 honey is safe to eat when pregnant! It's not safe for babies under one year old! I put honey in my tea and toast all the time. Love it!
  • DD / Weeks + Days: 19+2

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): dollar dollar bill y’all (lol)

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙

    Upcoming Appointments: October 24

How are you feeling?: So (insert expletive here) tired… so much heartburn… my feet are starting to swell… and super strange, very vivid dreams. Like I’ve woken up crying if it was a bad one.

Rants/Raves:  One of each. My husband is a saint because I couldn’t put up with me right now. And where is my energy? I was promised energy!

Questions: what are you (or your pet, or your child) going to be for Halloween? Nick wants to be Deadpool and I feel like I may have failed some kind of parenting test lol.

GTKY: what does the perfect (child-free) day look like for you?
It starts with being able to sleep past 9 (thanks a lot, kid). A lazy brunch followed by a day at the spa. Facial, massage, mani/pedi, the works, and then a sunset dinner with DH with a spectacular view. The last time I had that was the 2016 baby moon in HI. I’d love to recreate it one day.
  • Oh no @fininevermore ! I’m sorry you’re still so drained. I have my good days and my bad days as well - and need 9-10 hours of sleep minimum to function 😂 but yours sounds brutal! I hope it passes!!

for Halloween, DD wanted to be princess peach, so H will be Luigi and I am Mario! Which will be so cute with my belly ☺️ she has been wearing her costume non-stop since the end of August when we bought it for her. H is a HUGE Halloween guy so we are at spirit of Halloween with our coupons the end of August
  • @dunder_mifflin those are such fun costumes! I don't know if I am even dressing up this year. I've been so busy at work and then with the storms it may be a wash. My 9 year old is going to be Marty McFly and its honestly the coolest costume. He wants DH to go as Doc but I am not sure we can get all the stuff in time now.
  • @dunder_mifflin I’ve decided that I will not be dressing up this Halloween. Now if I had more energy, I’d be going as Cassandra Nova and if I wasn’t pregnant, I’d be Elektra.
  • @paigemm23 i want to get a massage too (still have a gift card from DH lol) and just know most places want a letter from your OB saying it's ok

@fininevermore i get a good day followed by 2 tired days lol like falling asleep at kids bedtime and sleeping all night
