Passed a single blood clot after having lower back pain

Hi all - so I’m supposed to be almost 7 weeks pregnant. I’ve been feeling okay other than some nausea. Today I had weird cramping and lower back pain. A few hours later I went to the bathroom and there was a blood clot (like a reddish brown) and now some very light spotting. I am freaking out since I can’t get to the doctor for another 2 weeks. Has any one had this before? Is this a sign of miscarriage? Ectopic pregnancy?

Re: Passed a single blood clot after having lower back pain

  • spotting and light cramping is normal for PG.  If you are concerned, please call your doctor.  If you don't feel you are getting the care you need, call a new/different doctor.

  • I had this happen during my first pregnancy. I went directly to the ER because my doctor was taking forever to see me . The ER a gave me an ultrasound. They diagnosised me with a threaten miscarriage but said most women who have this have very healthy pregnancies. And to just relax and rest as much as I could to feel better. Sending you love and peace so you find good and positive answers
  • Oh wow what is a threatened miscarriage? I think I may go to ER first thing tmrw.
  • I do NOT recommend going to the ER for PG related concerns.  Unless YOU know exactly what you are dealing with (which it doesn't sound like you do), they are not trained specifically for PG related situations, and you will end up with more confusion and terror than answers, and they will probably send you to your OB anyway.

Threatened MC means that you may be headed towards a MC, or maybe you aren't.  They aren't sure.
