Natural birth v Caesarean birth risk

Maternal death – 1 in 4200 women after caesarean birth compared with 1 in 25 000 women after vaginal birth.

If a women is going through a very traumatic natural birthing process and the last resort to keep baby and mother safe is to perform a caesarean, and the mother sadly passes away. Is this death recorded as a natural birth death or a caesarean death?

I want to know if the above figures are true or warped.

  • Where are you getting those numbers? If they are from an article or something, it should say if it includes emergency c-sections (which your example would be) or if it is just planned c-sections.
