  • Well, I'm kinda curious why she started doing this, who else in her life is doing the same or similar thing. But more to the point of your question - how would you normally correct her when she does something wrong? If she were to hit or bite someone, what would you do? Because calling names like that is just a different way to hurt someone.

And as far as explaining to her why it is wrong and hurtful to call names, one way I've heard that I liked is to compare words to knives. When we use the right words in the right way, they are helpful, like using knives to prepare food in the kitchen. But when they're used in the wrong way people can get hurt. And some words are sharp enough that you have to wait until you're older to use them.

  • I tried it. it didn't show her that words can do that! and I got multiple calls from parents with disabled kids saying she called them the same thing and her daycare school board is saying the same thing as well and i'm so upset and scared!!!
  • And i'm gone most of the days so my husband deals with this stuff.
