Babies: 6 - 9 Months

6 month sleep regression

Hi! My baby is now almost 7 months old. He slept amazing truly the whole time! And 100% through the night at 8 weeks… out of nowhere a few weeks ago that changed and it’s been a nightmare. Waking constantly. He’s hysterical when he does wake. I’ve tried everything. He has no fever or signs of anything wrong. He has reduced from 3 naps to 2. He gets enough calories during the day. He has a consistent bedtime routine. We try to soothe him in the crib with his pacifiers, rubbing his arms , legs, etc.. It’s just gotten worse and I have no idea what to do to get him to be able to help himself fall back asleep if he wakes/ get him to sleep through the night again. Please help!

Re: 6 month sleep regression

  • my baby is like that once in a while , he may be teething now which causes them to wake up in the middle of the night in pain

  • Yeah I would say teething if he’s inconsolable and maybe if you want and pediatrician gives ok to give Motrin. Another cause around this time is object permanence and separation anxiety. It might just be time for sleep training. We never sleep trained our babe until this happened at 5 months and then again at 6.5 months. She was always  good night sleeper until then.
