I just got my tdap vaccine and I have a prescription to get the RSV vaccine next month.
Is anybody else getting the RSV vax? This is for the baby more than me, right? Should hubby get the RSV shot?
The flu shot will be coming up here soon and I'm not sure when I should be getting a covid vax again? I haven't had one of those in ages because it isn't very common where I live. We haven't heard of a case around here in like 2 years so I don't even know if it's worth getting it?
Re: Vaccines
I wasn't expecting to get it today but I was at the hospital getting my 28 weeks bloods done and asked if they could give me the vaccine since they had posters everywhere. My hospital is a big women's hospital with a antenatal clinic that runs every day so they let you do walk ins for some routine things.
The RSV is supposed to be more for the baby. Here babies get an RSV vaccine at 12w but by giving the mother the vaccine we can pass antibodies to give them some protection in the meantime. There was a long article on the news about it the other day. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2ed29v415o
I'm also going to get a flu and a covid vaccine when they are available. I've had tdap vaccine already. I work in a inner city secondary school ages 11-18 so I usually pay for a flu jab because I get so much exposure to all the germs going round so I'm very happy to be given all the vaccines. I'm also quite conscious that baby is going to be born in the middle of flu season and I've got two older kids at school so there is a good chance baby could get an illness very early on.

I've had a quick look online and there is some recommendations for infants from the American CDC but I can't find anything else.
Now I just need to get the Covid shot and I'll be all set. I keep putting it off because that one always gives me horrible side effects. I don't have time to waste an afternoon and evening being useless with the chills and fever.
