Hospital bag

I am kinda confused. I read about what to bring in your hospital bag and I see adult diapers, large pads, post partum underwear… which one do I really need? Can I just wear post partum
underwear and put a pad in it? Or is it better to actually wear a adult diaper the first few days post partum?

Re: Hospital bag

  • Your hospital should be providing what you’ll need for the time you’re there. But it’s your choice if you want to bring your own. I don’t bring anything and save my stuff for at home. The reason people wear a diaper is because you bleed a lot the first few days and it can be more convenient than having to deal with pads. But it’s not necessary.

  • When you're bleeding a lot in the beginning adult diapers + a pad are useful. I got these Always adult diapers on Amazon and they're comfortable, and cheaper than like the Frida ones.
  • Thank you!!
  • My best friend had a baby girl last year and told me to buy disposable underwear. They were a game changer. No one tells you that you will bleed for a couple of weeks, regardless of if you have a vaginal birth or a c-section & the first few days will be very heavy. It's better to have disposable underwear and line those with pads (to save $) than having to stress about messing up underwear. Depend silhouette and always pads are what I'm going with and you can get them at a good rate on Amazon.
