What stroller do you have?: Uppababy Vista in emmet green (2018 version). We got the second seat after I had my second baby and the buggy board.

What age range is it for?: birth to 3+

    What do you love?:
-The bassinet that is certified for overnight sleeping. We've use it when away several times and for naps in the house.
    - Adjustable handle so it's comfortable for me and my tall husband.
    - Though large it fits in my small car.
    - Supper robust, ours has been used to death, it also does well off road.
    - Expands with your family and turns into a two seater. It's also grown really well with our families needs.

    What issues have you had?:
    - I did break the shassy last year by trapping it in the boot of the car. Thankfully I found someone locally to weld it and it's still going strong.
    - It's not the quickest to get out of the car because of all the seats.
    - It doesn't fit in some aisles of small shops, though I see that as the shop's problem because if you can't fit a pushchair you can't fit a wheelchair.

Would you recommend it?: Definitely, they are very popular in the UK despite being on the pricy end because they are imported from the US. A really good choice if you're planning on having more than 1 child.

I'm in Canada and our safety rules are a lot more strict than the US. My sister has two kids and researched car seats like crazy!
We bought the Graco Modes Pramette system. I really wanted a travel system and one that has a pram feature so that baby can lay flat when we get to where we're going to, since we're out in the country, It's guaranteed to be a long drive wherever we go.
I wanted one of the rotating car seats but they have a few law suits for safety issues here in Canada. That was a bummer because what a convenience that would be!
  • I do have a question tho: How many people are putting baby in the middle of the back seat vs the side?
Some of my friends insist on the middle because it's the safest place, but it's so awkward to get baby out. We have a higher vehicle too so I think I'd have to get in the backseat to get him out.
  • What stroller do you have?: Babyjogger City Mini GT2, regular and double.

What age range is it for?: With attachments (car seat or bassinet), from birth. Otherwise, from baby is 6 months/can sit unassisted. I do have a bassinet attachment, we’ll use that when baby is born. I’m not a fan of using car seats/travel systems. I want to limit the time spent in car seats as much as possible.

What do you love?: the BabyJogger City Mini is hands down my favorite stroller ever (I have other strollers too but this is our “main” one). Because of the age gap between my two first kids (4), I didn’t get the double stroller right away as I assumed my son (now 5.5) wouldn’t need a stroller much longer, but when I found out I was pregnant with baby 3 I got it right away. It’s been a lifesaver for when he gets tired too, it can hold up to 65 lbs and fits big kids easily. Most regular strollers don’t hold more than 50 lbs and get awkward to sit in once kiddo reaches a certain height (and my son is really tall), so if you think you’ll use a stroller for a long time, it’s a solid choice. It’s easy to fold, extremely easy to maneuver, and although it looks big it fits into surprisingly small spaces. The double stroller can fit through a regular doorway even though the seats are side by side.

What issues have you had?: It’s kind of heavy, although not as heavy as some of the pricier ones like UppaBaby Vista. My main complaint is the storage space, it really can’t hold much. You can hang a diaper bag from the handle, but you need to be careful to not add too much weight to the handle as it can tip backwards.

Would you recommend it? Definitely! Although I think if you’re a FTM and you know you want more kids, especially close in age, I’d consider more flexible options that let you add another seat/bassinet so it can turn into a double stroller from a single (Mockingbird or UppaBaby Vista for example). If you buy the single BabyJogger City Mini GT for baby 1, you’ll have to get a second stroller or separate double stroller for baby 2 down the line. I don regret doing that personally, sometimes you only need a single stroller, but it’s nice to have some flexibility if you plan ahead. And it’s more cost effective and space saving.

  • @mitchip we wanted to put my son in the middle when he was tiny, but because we have a small sedan it was impossible to make the seat fit without it touching the back of the driver seat, which is really unsafe. So we put him behind the passenger seat. When his sister was born we front faced him and put him behind the driver seat, with his sister on the passenger seat side. Now we’re going to get a new car to fit baby 3, and he’ll be in the middle.

I think if it’s possible to do it without it causing too many issues, put baby in the middle. But, it’s still safe to put them in the side seat too. If it’s way too awkward, I wouldn’t feel bad about putting baby in the side seat at all.

  • @mitchip In Europe isofix is the standard now for infant seats and very few vehicles have isofix in the middle. We just got a new car to fit 3 kids so I did a lot of research and I don't think I saw more than two cars with isofix in the middle seat. So our littlest have always gone behind the passenger seat.

We've got all Cybex car seats because they have great safety ratings I also have some adapters to attach my cyber infant seat to my Uppababy pushchair.
  • Thank you all for the reassurance. We installed the base into the backseat to test it out and put the seat for our mini Dachshunds in as well, and the car seat wouldn't have fit next to the dog's seat. Lord only knows our one mini who is obsessed with my belly would have been leaned over as far as she could licking the baby if it was right next to her. lol.
  • Hi all, adding to this with actually more questions because we are in stroller buying land atm. We have the Babyzen Yoyo2, and are thinking of also getting the Nuna Triv Next. These both hold up to about 50 lbs, though one is more travel/airline friendly, one has other features like an adjustable handlebar (I’m a shorty so this is definitely reasonable). My husband is questioning is we need the second one or not. Would you get 2? Looking at 2nd hand for the second one so it wouldn’t be as pricey.
  • @sarinakida11 I have the Babyzen Yoyo2 and LOVE it!! It’s amazing for travel, super easy to maneuver and fold/unfold and holds up so well (I’ve had mine for five years through two kids and it still looks brand new).

I don’t think it’s necessary to have two strollers, but it sure is handy. It depends on how much you think you’ll want to use them, where you live, what kind of use etc. I like having a bigger, sturdier stroller for day trips and a smaller one for quick trips. The Yoyo really doesn’t have much storage space, and the wheels aren’t great for uneven terrain, so I mostly use it as a travel and quick trip stroller. I don’t know anything about the Nuna, but I looked it up and I think the storage space looks awesome so the two strollers you’ve picked would complement each other well!

  • @sarinakida11 We have two but only because my MIL bought one for when she used to pick up my son from Nursery. She gave it to us about a year ago and we've hardly ever used it. But it was so useful when we went to London for the day in the spring.

I don't think you need two but if you're going to do a lot of travelling it would be useful. We usually drive to see family as it's 4/5h so too close to fly.
