Help!! Travel system prams

i know its a little early but I have been looking at prams. It's so confusing and I have no idea what to go for. The only thing I know I want is a travel system that's light and compact, small enough when folded to fit in a vw polo. Has anyone any ideas of good makes ect .. Thank you in advance x

Re: Help!! Travel system prams

  • Find a store where you can test drive them. That's the best place to start so you can narrow down what type of stroller you like, then go from there.

Sometimes the travel systems don't have as nice of strollers or the variety of them as buying it single. A lot of nicer brands have carseat adapters so you can still use whatever stroller you want and get the carseat adapter for it.

  • I agree with test driving.

We absolutely love our Bob Revolution with car seat adapter- three wheels makes it maneuverable anywhere and we'll be able to use it forever and then sell it and make some money back later. I detest four wheel strollers because I walk and run often so I needed something more durable and easier to navigate.

  • We went with the Graco Modes system this time. I wanted something that was lightweight, and easily folded down. I love it.

  • @AdventureMama is it a good stroller to take on trails? Not necessarily anything too woodsy, but over rocks and dirt, maybe small branches?

We have a Bob as well, and yes, @egraves4, it would work well on bumpy terrain like that.

We have a Bob, City Select, and a City Mini for my parents. (We also have a Chicco Liteway that we originally got for them, but it didn't work as well on their road).

We'll be selling the City Select and getting a City Mini GT double.

  • Just FYI in case you find a seperate stroller and car seat that you love...almost ALL strollers have adapters that you can get separately for your model car seat to make it "snap n go" travel system style.

  • We have a graco travel system, and we still use it sometimes when we're on vacation. We ended up getting an all terrain stroller for everyday, because it's much easier to maneuver and we like to take a lot of walks around our neighborhood. The all terrain stroller works much better for uneven terrain and is easier to steer, but it is pretty heavy and isn't very compact to fold. However, when we travel we almost always bring the travel system stroller because it's easier to fold with one hand and can fit through the x ray machine at the airport.

Oh absolutely. I take it on the trails around my house constantly. It can handle pretty much anything. :)

We are currently in discussion with a mom in our area who needed to upgrade to a double stroller.  She is selling the City Elite, which currently sells new for $399, and she's selling it used for $185.  SO and I decided the only way we are going to get the stroller we want is by buying it used (since you just can't beat the damn price of $336 for the b-safe/b-agile travel system, despite the fact that that isn't exactly what we are looking for).  The lady mentioned it isn't the best for using as a primary stroller, and maybe I'm just being crazy, but a lot of people have said they used this as their primary stroller and LOVE it.  So we're going to go check it out for ourselves tomorrow.

I totally get how overwhelming it can be! I’d recommend looking at the Bugaboo Bee or the Babyzen YOYO2. Both are lightweight, compact, and should easily fit in your VW Polo when folded.
