Upcoming Appointments: I had my regular Midwife appointment last week. Everything was fine, the only thing was that baby was breech. I've been doing inversions every day since then and spent a lot of time on hands and knees painting the skirting boards. Yesterday I had a lot of kicking at the top of my bump so I'm hoping she's got turned around. 🤞 I hope I'm right and she stays that way because it will save me a lot of stress.
Next week I've got a appointment with my consultant because of the 3rd degree tear I got during my VBAC. So they will do a scan (lucky me 🥴) to see how it's healed, I had one at 3m post partum and it was fine then. Then we'll discuss my birth plans and hopefully they will be supportive of me having another VBAC.
How are you feeling?: Still feeling mostly OK. I'm definitely more tired now I've been back at work after the summer off. Starting tomorrow I get my fist day off while my older kids are at school. So it will be really nice to have time to rest and get things ready for baby without doing childcare at the same time.
Rants/Raves: Spinning Babies. We're all probably starting to think about birth prep and spinning babies is a great resource. I did a lot of there exercises/activities with DS2 because he had an unstable lie. I did a lot to try and get him in a good position and get his head engaged to stop him from being able to do somersaults at full term! Rant- Spinning Babies is a really hard to navigate site so in my last bump group I made a document with a site map, all the topics with the links to the pages. I can post it on here if anyone is interested.
Upcoming Appointments: regular midwife appt early October.
How are you feeling?: so tired! And the lower back pain creeps in if I sit for too long at work (which happens easily when you have a desk job). Nausea is ramping up too, I haven’t puked in a long time but it’s just there all the time. Also dealing with insomnia and awful leg cramps nightly.
Rants/Raves: rave: my husband finally scheduled his vasectomy! No more babies!!! Him putting off getting one is why I’m here in the first place, ha.
Rant: I’m so behind on preparing for baby’s arrival. I know I don’t really need much since we have everything from the big siblings, but I’d still like to get the house in order somewhat. It’s just so hard while solo parenting after a long day of work, and then we always end up with obligations on weekends. I think I just need to put my foot down and say no, we need at least one weekend of organizing, prepping and deep cleaning.

I am still having a lot of hip pain that makes it hard to sleep, so I’m feeling tired and I’m hurting most days.
Rave: I have a baby shower in a week and I can’t wait! It’s really something to look forward to. It helps when everyone else is excited about baby because I’m a little over it and ready to meet the little guy and not be toting him around inside me. Also at my last apt. The Dr said I’m managing my sugar levels well with diet so they are not putting me on any meds for now and the plan is to let me carry to a full 40 weeks. Yay!
Rant: My digestive system has been way out of whack this week and I really only want to eat bland foods like toast. That doesn’t work with gestational diabetes where I’m supposed to be doing a high protein, low carb diet. I can be very hungry and also not want to eat anything at the same time and that is not the best.
Upcoming Appointments: had OB appnt this past Wednesday. Starting to go every 2 weeks now. We registered for virtual prenatal classes for the end of the month. I feel like I've done so much research that I'm more excited for my husband to learn all the things lol.
How are you feeling?: depends on the day! Most days I'm feeling pretty good. Sleeping sitting up has really helped the heartburn and night nausea. I did vomit at my desk the other day and peed my pants so I had to go home and change. That was fun! Luckily I'm only about 10 min backroads drive from work.
Rants/Raves: I'm exhausted! We finished Harvest and it was 5 days of go go go with family and helpers. On top of that we replaced the carpet with flooring in our master bedroom so me and hubby moved all the furniture out (I moved empty drawers while he moved the whole dresser lol) and now back in. Then I got a headcold and haven't recovered yet. rave: I think I'm done with getting everything for baby. I just have to wash his clothes, bedding etc. which I want to do NOW so I can put everything back. lol. I'm getting some boxes of clothes from my sister this weekend that I get to sort through. I've started the countdown to my Maternity leave as well, and only have 34 working days left!! (technically I'm doing two-ish weeks of pto and then starting my maternity leave)
Upcoming Appointments: Last week had our second MFM to do growth scans. Next week have OB for non-stress tests. (I typically do monthly US bc twins- do you get US when you do NST too? Have a dinner reservation and was curious if we needed to push it back if both…)
How are you feeling?: Tired all the time. I sleep in 60-90 min intervals due to uncomfort and needing to flip/rearrange masses of pillows. But pretty happy that is is worst thing.
Rants/Raves:
• 90% of my maternity clothes are either hand me downs from sis in law or from FB marketplace, and they are not meant for fall. I am loving this weather we are having- but work won’t allow leggings and while I have hand me down jeans- whew those are not great for traveling in car and the squat position to work with little kids. I don’t plan on having more kids; and maternity clothes are insanely price hiked, so my outfits are getting more and more unique.
• Started new job this school year and they threw me a surprise shower. I was not expecting it and while I hate surprises- very touched.
• Gifted some hand me down premie diapers/ outfits (just in case) which helped because I think we had one outfit each since I didn’t want to purchase them and throw anything out in universe
• One my pals is recently pregnant too (she not telling folks yet stage) but I am sooooo excited to have instant friend for my kids
• Got called in for Jury Duty on my dd haha let’s postpone that one, and was super easy
• People are so ridiculously nice to HUGE pregnant people. Sometimes I worry about bringing kids into this world so it has really helped with that mindset; most people are good!
• Had to return gifted twin bassinet because it was 100% used, lots of dog hair stuck in pieces, missing a piece, and could see ‘kid usage’. The DH finally returned it yesterday after weeks of this giant box in living room .
@cornichonmam I had a peek at spinning babies and it looked interesting, I would totally check out handy bookmarks. Do you know much about belly mapping?
Maybe based on movement I would say baby is head down right now, but I'm not at all sure. I have a midwife appt this week, so I'd like to chat with her this week about positioning and stuff, how to tell what's what and get a good idea of what feels like what.... Lol
I've finally finished working, and am happy to have the next 8 weeks (🤞) to rest and nest. But I will say it was quite empowering to continue physically working such a demanding job into my 32nd week.
Upcoming Appointments: I see my mfm specialist sept 25. I have been seeing him every 2 weeks for placental abruption and after the next appt we will go weekly. I see my ob in 3 weeks.
How are you feeling?: pretty rough. I have had 2 weekends in a row of bleeding, 24 hours of diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration contractions. These contractions almost are worse than my labor with my daughter.
Rants/Raves: wishing I wasn’t working 4 jobs. These next 9 weeks seem daunting with how my body is coping. Love seeing my daughter be so excited about being a big sissy!
