DD / Weeks + Days: 14+2 can’t believe I’m in the second trimester already!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Baby is the size of a (an): peach 🍑
Team blue/pink/green: pink🩷
Upcoming Appointments: September 16th I think
How are you feeling?: oddly good? Still tired but not exhausted.
Rants/Raves: finally told my family the news! They’re all very excited! We will be telling my in laws this week and I can’t wait for their reaction!
Questions: not at the moment!
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? May be a tie between Easter and Christmas. Love Easter because we’ve been spending it as a family and go to a local tulip farm. Just a low key relaxing holiday! But I love Christmas for the exact opposite! We spend it with extended family and everything is chaotic which is also a fun time 🤣
Team blue/pink/green: feel like signs are pointing towards girl but we should know soon
Upcoming Appointments: First tri screening on Thursday, I guess this is a 3d scan for nuchal translucency. Excited for the 3D!
How are you feeling?: So much better, more energy. The bump really popped overnight between 12 and 13 weeks
Rants/Raves: Slowly telling everyone, except work. I need to sort out my maternity leave options first (I won't have been at my job a full year with baby comes) and I'll likely wait until the last possible moment to tell work.
Questions: How much water are ya'll drinking daily? I was slightly dehydrated at my last appointment and I already drink a ton of water. I don't know how to up my consumption.
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? My birthday or Christmas. I am not a huge holiday person honestly
Baby is the size of a (an): scoop of ice cream! Yum
Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow
How are you feeling?: Finally starting to feel like normal again. So back to eating well-ish. Tomorrow.
Rants/Raves: DS is constantly confirming that I'm his favorite person, and it's nice to be able to cuddle with him on the couch again.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving! Food, family and games. Would be the same for Christmas, but I'm usually exhausted from wrapping presents the night before. I was planning on hosting Thanksgiving this year, but that's gonna be a big fat no for now. I'll bring a dish this time instead of doing my normal job, helping with setup and cleanup.
Team blue/pink/green: green. Taking NIPT next week so should know gender in a couple weeks
Upcoming Appointments: September 11th - NIPT, September 17th -Ob check up
How are you feeling?: slightly better. The nausea has been horrendous for weeks now, but the last few days have been tolerable until evening time. Still exhausted though. I did my my makeup last Saturday for the first time in 7 weeks, that felt good!
Rants/Raves: I am ready to have energy!
Questions: Any other 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc time mama's feeling those flutters? I can tell the difference between gas and I SWEAR I'm feeling those magical flutters and quickening.
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving because of the FOOD lol and Christmas because it's a joy to spend time with family and watching the excitement on my kids faces.
Upcoming Appointments: October 1st but may book a private u/s since I haven't seen him since 8 weeks! Will need to get labwork done at 15w to test for spina bifida but that is just through labcorp.
How are you feeling?: Relatively pretty good! My belly is definitely popping!
Rants/Raves: Looking forward to the honeymoon phase of the second trimester!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas definitely! Even though I live in Florida and wish for nothing more than a white christmas every year. There is just something so magical and happy about the entire winter season for me. Mostly because I love watching the joy and awe through my son.
I think I've felt tiny little flutters randomly! Its usually when I am laying in bed trying to fall asleep. This is only my second and its been ten years so I am second-guessing myself but I really think its him!
@cortneylynnn I also mainly feel the flutters when I lay down or am super relaxed. In fact feeling them as I type this and I'm laying in bed. 🩷 I am just going to believe it's my little nugget and not gas 🤣🤣
Upcoming Appointments: MFM 1st tri US 9/16 (at 14 weeks lol) because I'm old and have a history of MCs
How are you feeling?: better, a huge sense of relief hitting 13 weeks. But probably going to be an anxious mess this entire pregnancy while actively trying not to be
Rants/Raves: DH is amazing and has been so supportive during this pregnancy as I've felt way worse than with my previous ones. Rant - the constant nausea and general even thinking about food makes everything worse can go
Questions: I'm not sure when to tell my kids (5 and 3). We told them about the first pregnancy which then ended in a MC and DS had questions long after. I think this is our last big hurdle
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? I love Christmas. Lots of great memories growing up with my gram's house packed with family and presents. We now host a big family gathering the week before Christmas (usually 50+ people) but it's covered dish and basically we just provide the gathering space. Thanksgiving is a close second because I love the food and it's always around my birthday.
Team blue/pink/green: Just got my NIPT results. Team blue 😊💙🩵
Upcoming Appointments: Monday the 9th I have the NT appointment with perinatology
How are you feeling?: Much better! Nausea is basically gone. Occasionally still have food aversions. Experiencing occasional hip pain/cramps. Think it’s round ligament pain??
Rants/Raves: At my last OB appointment the doctor was a little rude because I didn’t get my labs done at Labcorp in what he thought was a “timely manner”. Long story short, I honestly just confused the NIPT and NT tests and since I had an NT appointment set, I didn’t go get my other labs done because I thought they were the same thing and all going to get done at the same time. I was really frustrated because as a FTM this is all new to me. So I’m thinking about switching OB’s to someone who is a little more gracious and clearly explains things. But I am nervous about making the change because what if the next one’s worse? 😅
Questions: none
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving by far!! I love cooking with my mom and grandma and the fact that our family gets together and focuses on gratitude.
Team blue/pink/green: still green, NIPT results should be next week!
Upcoming Appointments: I just had my first midwife apt. Last week, I was so happy to be back at my previous clinic, we talked about how this baby will likely be an elective c-section again, but open to all options. I was just relieved to hear them say they would keep me on as a patient, we would choose the OB, date, time, etc. together 😊
How are you feeling?: much better this week. The brain fog is lifting a bit, my appetite is now regulated (I was RAVENOUS before).
Rants/Raves: raves are for H for being the literal best husband and dad! Baby 2 was more for me (H was one and done if he could choose) and he’s still stepping up. He’s now getting more excited 😊
Questions: nothing right now!
GTKY: what is your favorite holiday and why? I am Christmas obsessed!!! We also go all out on Halloween decor inside. H is obsessed.
@ttbird29 Ugh, I’d leave that OB FAR behind, because if they’re not explaining little things like that, other more major things could get messed up down the line.
