How are you feeling?: Almost had a leg cramp the other night and it happened just like we discussed.  I was able to stop stretching in time but I know that means its going to start happening more and more.  Other than that I've been feeling good.  Still get winded easily but I'll take that over other symptoms.

Rants/Raves: I just found out that my insurance doesn't cover the genetic testing and they want me to pay ~$750.  The insurance I had when I did it with my daughter covered it and I only paid ~$170.  My new insurance is supposed to be "better" so I had no clue it would be that much.  I should have checked first so it's partially my fault.  I'm appealing it though.  They denied it because they said they don't pay for services that aren't proven to be effective.  I also reached out to the testing company because last time they gave me the option to pay through insurance or cash pay and I think the cash pay was around $250.  This time they just ran it through insurance.

    Questions:

GTKY: I think we are all at the halfway point (or will be by the end of this week).  So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about?  Excited to meet my little guy (cliche I know).  Worried about sleep!  We were so lucky with our daughter.  She is an amazing sleeper so I know this one won't be.  I'm also worried that he is going to disrupt her sleep and we'll have a cranky almost 2 year old to deal with as well.

How are you feeling?: The boys' flutters upgraded to full on kicks which I've been able to see and feel from outside which is wild! My husband hasn't been able to feel them yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Super exciting, I feel like they're awake and moving all hours of the day though, which is interesting and at times distracting, when I'm trying to sleep or something. Also been getting a lot of acid reflux after eating.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: I think we are all at the halfway point (or will be by the end of this week).  So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about?

Excited: To meet these little boys! To see what they look like and learn their little personalities, to make really wonderful memories as a new family, to see my husband become a dad...so much to look forward to.

Nervous: As a FTM, I'm be lying if I said I wasn't pretty nervous for labor/delivery (esp with 2 babies lol), but I know it will be okay. Trying to prepare, but not over-research and over-focus on it, and just take things one day at a time. Also, I think I've mentioned before, but I plan to WFH part time and care for the babies, and I'm a little stressed about what that will look like, but I know we can figure it out.

    Upcoming Appointments: 27 Sept

How are you feeling?: Sleeping has gotten bad. I've developed pregnancy induced carpel tunnel and it wakes me up in the middle of the night with numb hands... it's awful

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: I know this probably sounds crazy, and as excited as I am, I worry about how I will love this child as much as my first born? TTM+ any advice?

GTKY: I think we are all at the halfway point (or will be by the end of this week).  So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about? The other day I had a dream about potty training... and the baby isn't even here yet haha. I am hoping for a VBAC so I'm a bit worried about that but also hopeful, but also have no idea what to expect!

How are you feeling?: sleepy again, and endurance has been a STRUGGLE working out. But I’m doing my best to keep up with it for recovery purposes after birth

Rants/Raves: Rant-I announced my pregnancy to my entire work team (boss and 2 others already knew) yesterday and it’s absolutely bonkers to me how comfortable people feel commenting on your body when pregnant. It was not an open invitation to comment on your opinions of my bump. It’s definitely ramping up the feeling like my body is not my own.

Rave-baby girl is moving like crazy this days and this has to be my favorite part of pregnancy. Now I can picture her in there squirming around since the anatomy scan!

Questions: how much are you exercising in pregnancy? What have you been able to keep up with since pre-pregnancy?

GTKY: I think we are all at the halfway point (or will be by the end of this week).  So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about?

I cannot wait to see her first smile and hear her first laugh. My husband and I are both silly so that will be really fun for us ♥️ also super nervous about losing so much sleep. I’ve only dealt with it with puppies for a week or two at a time, so it will be a big adjustment for me and husband.
  • @fk18 AGREED to your rant. I'm sorry you have to deal with that, but I'm relieved in a weird way that I'm not the only one frustrated by it. People at work don't even say "hi" anymore... it's immediately "let's see your bump!". I know they mean well and are excited for me but damn it makes me uncomfortable. It's especially wild how comfortable the men in the office are with asking

Baby is the size of a (an): endive or the Trolley from Mister Roger’s Neighborhood

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: 24th for an anatomy scan continuation because little miss was not cooperative and they couldn’t get proper head measurements or any profile images.

How are you feeling?: I’m upbeat and okay during the day, but by the time work is over, I’m exhausted and cranky.

Rants/Raves: mini rant: I still don’t have a cute bump and just look like I’m fat and bloated. Pregnancy with loose skin from weight loss sucks.

Questions: Anyone else in the group find out they have a single umbilical artery? They noted it in my anatomy findings, but didn’t address it, so hoping to find out more after Anatomy part 2.

GTKY: I think we are all at the halfway point (or will be by the end of this week).  So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about?

I think I’m most excited to see the relationship grow between my son and his little sister. There’s a big age gap, but he’s so excited to have a sibling and especially a baby sister.

As far as fears/nerves, I think my big fear is raising a girl and not “messing her up” with body insecurities or the other toxic femininity stuff I dealt and still often deal with.

How are you feeling?: Aside from being a bit breathless and having some joint pain, good!

Rants/Raves: I’ve been feeling really anxious about the hospital birth I’m planning because of all the potential restrictions I might face. Reading Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth has been filling my head with all sorts of negative thoughts. She touts the benefits of thinking positively and reading positive birth stories, but the only ones she seems to think are positive are at home.

Questions: Anyone have a good virtual prenatal yoga recommendation??

GTKY: I’m most excited about getting to watch my baby experience life for the first time. His first rain, first lemon, first steps. I’m most worried about what my hospital will allow me to do, and have reprioritized a tour and a convo with my midwife about it.

Baby is the size of a (an): coconut 🥥

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

    Upcoming Appointments: early October

How are you feeling?: still more tired than I’d like, out of breath often and always congested, but otherwise decent. Being able to feel baby move is a so fun and I’m still delighted by being visibly pregnant

Rants/Raves: my rants right now are all about work stress 😅  rave, my husband has been really stepping it up lately and I love it. He’s picked up more chores around the house and is fully involved in baby prep. He’s great.

Questions: is anyone else thinking about how to prepare your dog for baby? I got a training course and we bought a bunch of baby gates to separate spaces but I’m still nervous. I know what we need to do, just looking to commiserate :)

GTKY: So, what are you most excited about for the future? And/or what are you most nervous/worried about? Most excited to share experiences with the kid! Like just watching the bunnies outside our window - simple things. Most nervous about finances at this point tbh.
  • @dalszer what kind of restrictions are you worried about in the hospital?
  • @strongishmom we didn't really do anything to prepare our dog for the baby.  We honestly didn't even think about it.  When we brought our daughter home, we let her sniff her for a little bit.  She's very excitable but has never been aggressive.  We just had to remind her to calm down around the baby.  One thing that we had was a bassinet that could close.  This was more for the cats but they were so scared of her they didn't really get too close.  This is the one we bought: https://www.target.com/p/dream-on-me-karley-bassinet/-/A-89021401?preselect=89021402#lnk=sametab It might be a good option for the dog to get close without being too close.
  • @dalszer what kind of restrictions are you worried about in the hospital?
sorry, just seeing this now. how do i turn on post notifications?

i was worried about not being able to eat or drink, or having continuous fetal monitoring or an IV making it difficult to move around, etc. i talked to my midwife though and she said that their partnership with the hospital has a lot less restrictions than what an OB might require or might be in place at other hospitals
