TTC after Birth Control

I am trying to conceive after being on birth control pills for 11 years. My period is late by a week and I have had 3 negative pregnancy tests. Has anyone else had trouble getting their period to restart after hormonal birth control? How do you not get discouraged when your cycle isn’t regular and you’re TTC?

    Hi @emlingerfelt, every time I go off birth control (I’m on and off it for various IVF treatments) my next cycle has been long, more like 35-36 days rather than my usual 26-27. I’ve assumed it’s because my body needs a minute to remember it has to make the hormones on its own now, so I ovulate later.

    Were your cycles regular before starting birth control? It can take a few months to get back to your baseline. Hang in there!

    @emlingerfelt Agree with @aisleofviewtwo that going off of BC can cause periods to be wonky/ 'late' for months afterwards as your body figures itself out and regulates.  

    I HIGHLY recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and doing Basal Body Temping.  It can really help you figure out YOUR body and when YOU may or may not be Ovulating and when you should test/get your period.

    MC #1: D&C Oct 23, 2015 (7.5 weeks)
    MC #2: July 1, 2016 (5.5 weeks)
    MC #3: October 17, 2016 (CP)
    RE #1: RPL testing November 2016-January 2017
    MC #4: Feb. 28, 2017 (CP)
    RE #2: Additional RPL testing March-November 2017
    MC #5: January 2019 (6.5 weeks)

    RE #3: More testing 2023. 
    Egg Retrieval Sept/Oct 2023, 2 good embryos after PGT-A testing.
    Surgery for endometriosis January 2024
    Lupron Depo March 2024.  Benched 3 months.

    FET #1: June 3, 2024 (failed)

    Lupron Depo June 2024. Benched 3 months again before next FET.

    FET #2: September 2024 (failed)

    FET #3: December 2024 (failed)

    While starting ttc in 2023, I went off birth control but didn't get my periods for about 3 months. Then I started taking õvul@t fertility supplements by v1dal0-cîty (which I also took during my first try and with the help of these supplements I conceived my 1st baby). Through these supplements, my cycle regulates in 2 months and I conceived for the 2nd time following the 4th month. I highly recommend it.
