How are you feeling?: Physically, I am pretty good, but my emotions are all over the place right now.
Rants/Raves: Rave - Just got a new pregnancy pillow and laptop desk that make working in bed/on the couch so much more comfortable.
Questions: If you had to choose between a professional maternity photoshoot and a newborn one, which would you pick?
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Walking! The hubby is so good about going after work every day with the dog, but I'm so mentally tired I bail a lot of the time. I know it is good for me though so I want to push myself to go more.
How are you feeling?: Feeling good! Had some really painful round ligament pain that seemed to come out of nowhere on Thu/Fri, made even simple things like walking really painful. Stretching, hot shower, resting and getting a belly band seemed to really help, things are much more normal yesterday and today.
Rants/Raves: Deep in registry making world lol, there's too many options for everything!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Go on more hikes/walks on local trails or out in nature rather than just around my neighborhood since that's more convenient. I love walking down at the beach or on some pretty local trails, it just takes more planning/time to drive on top of walking, but I should do it more--always so relaxing and peaceful!
Baby is the size of a (an): Endive (or some of the fun ones - Kool-Aid Burst Bottle or Trolley from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood)
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Just had my anatomy scan on Friday - Next is Sep 20th
How are you feeling?: Good for the most part. A few nights I have been waking up with indigestion. Also, since switching iron supplements my stomach is feeling better but I am starting to notice the constipation. It's not too bad yet but I need to start managing it before it becomes a bigger problem.
Rants/Raves: I thought baby boy was cooperating during the anatomy scan but when I met with the doctor she said that because he was breech she couldn't get a good image of his spine and his heart. I was confused because the tech showed us both of them. Either way, I will be having another limited US at the next appointment. So I guess a rant and a rave.
Questions:
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? My hobbies. I used to read and knit/crochet and I really miss doing that. I also don't get to really watch TV anymore. I have started to play a video game that I like during my daughter's naps on the weekends. They are so unpredictable how long they are going to be though so that's all I have tried doing so far.
@lovelylittlebump newborn shoot. Mostly because I have body image issues but also because the newborn shoots are so freakin cute.
@kendyb77 I was hoping the registry would be easier the 2nd time around but it's not! I don't need as much but all of the options of the stuff I do need or want to try this time around is still overwhelming.
@lovelylittlebump I’d go with maternity shoot! When else will you get professional photos of yourself looking like a Beyoncé-level goddess 😂 tbh I probably won’t do either as I don’t want to spend the money, but that would be my choice.
@kendyb77 I feel the same way about the registry, but I’ve been asking friends for their input on the must-haves within the first month, and that’s helped immensely. (Everyone says to have a billion burp cloths lol)
@strongishmom yes to the burp cloths! We thought we had enough but we ended up having to buy more. We had them all over the house so we didn't have to go searching for them when we needed them.
Baby is the size of a (an): Mango (today he is the size of a hot dog according to the bump!)
Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: Sept 4th anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: feeling good!! Still throwing up occassionally but that continues to improve each week. I finally see why people say second trimester is usually the best
Rants/Raves: I finally felt baby move 😭 I was questioning if I was feeling flutters for the last week or so, but yesterday without a doubt I could tell baby was rolling around in there 💙 it makes everything feel so much more real and of course it brought my emotional hormonal self to tears
Questions: anyone going on a baby moon? If so, where are you headed?
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? HIKING - specifically the Mount Tammany trail at the delaware water gap. This used to be my happy place and i would try to go every season, but now its been a few years since ive gone. I also miss swimming in the ocean. I go to the beach most weekends in the summer, but haven't actually gone in the water this year and it's something I genuinely love. I know beach trips will be very different once baby comes, so I want to try to soak up the full experience at least once before fall.
Also - @kamays54 I have started to really look forward to these every week. Thank you so much for always starting the thread 💕
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? travel. My husband and I never took a honeymoon, we always said we'd take one once we had some more money saved up, but we never got around to it. The furthest we've gone is the beach unfortunately.
Upcoming Appointments: Next week, I have one image they need for the anatomy scan that they couldn’t get!
How are you feeling?: Good for the most part, extremely emotional, tired at times and aches and pains here and there.
Rants/Raves: Still have to rant about not consistently feeling the baby move. He is doing great, moves a ton on the ultrasounds so I know he’s got to be moving around in there - I just can’t seem to detect it and it makes me extremely unhappy.
Questions: none
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Pilates and any other more intense movements. I’m an active person but this pregnancy really caused me to pump the brakes and now I just can’t get back in the groove. Trying to be patient and kind to myself but I do wish I was more consistently active like I used to be.
Baby is the size of a (an): banana (or, apparently, a Starbucks venti cup!!)
Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan today!!!
How are you feeling?: very excited and a little nervous for the anatomy scan! But mostly fine, though pregnancy brain is still intense. I keep making minor mistakes at work and am really really hoping I don’t accidentally do anything significant.
Rants/Raves: none atm
Questions: none atm
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Like a lot of others here - getting into nature! We live so close to the mountains and we just never go. I’m hoping to take advantage of the upcoming long weekend to drive in and walk around - I don’t think I can handle a super long hike at higher elevation right now but could totally do a few miles.
@jojosesame I haven’t really felt my baby move either! Maybe a few flutters a few weeks ago but nothing obvious. My last heartbeat check was fine and everyone keeps saying he’s moving around… so I’m hoping the anatomy scan today shows everything is fine. But I’m right there with you.
@amcgill174 we didn’t do a honeymoon either and that was 5 years ago 😂 we want to go to Spain but now it seems like it’ll be pushed back another few years.
@jaclyn-ak We are sort of doing a babymoon? Lol. We’re going to visit my husband’s family in Puerto Rico in October. So, it’s really a family trip, but it’s to a tropical island! I’m hoping we can carve out a little bit of time to make it feel babymoon-ish - maybe a day at a private beach or something. Our wedding anniversary is actually in September and we don’t have anything specific planned for that either because we’re going to a friend’s wedding, so… just kind of making it work how we can.
@jojosesame - no movement here yet. I know it’s still early but I just want to feel her!
@jaclyn-ak - we are headed to Italy in a couple weeks! We were hoping for a Scandinavia trip or something this year, but we’re headed back to Italy since we know we can get around easily and also so we can balance exploring and naps. Trying to plan a big trip where we’d be hiking was not in the cards for this year.
Barely making the check-in this week! I'm trying to make a point to be more active on our board!

Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan on 9/9!
How are you feeling?: Tired! Reaching that "uncomfortable while trying to sleep" stage already so I've not been sleeping well. Other than that everything is peachy!
Rants/Raves: Ended up not passing my 3hr glucose test so now I get to check my blood sugar 4x a day. Not pumped about that, but definitely want to make sure I'm taking care of baby girl as best as I can!
Questions: Anyone already prepping the nursery or have any inspo? I'm not sure if it's because it's my 2nd kid, but I'm really lacking inspiration. I'm kind of leaning towards like a cottage-core vibe with vintage-ish bows and little woodland creatures. But I'm also very well aware that she won't be spending much time in there for the first year of her life, LOL, so I'm trying not to stress too much over it.
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Spending time with my friends! Between our group of 7 girls, we have 17 kids among us with ages that range from 10 years to 2 weeks, so that's made it harder for all of us to get together - but when we do, it's a chaotic mess of fun LOL!
@tpwkalyn I spent the last week checking my levels 4x a day against a Freestyle to make sure it was calibrated and I was also not pumped. They have me exclusively using the Freestyle now 🙏🏾 Your nursery vibes sound so cute!!
Like @tpwkalyn, I’m squeezing in responses last minute!

How are you feeling?: was feeling fine and dandy until I was struck with the WORST sharp leg cramps in the middle of the night last night. Wow. I’ve read this can happen but I think I was also struck because im visiting family in CA right now and way less active/not stretching like I normally do.
Rave: I’m finally confident I’m feeling my baby girl move! At this point it’s pretty magically. Not looking forward to when she’s bigger and it starts to hurt haha
Questions: anybody else had/have these horrid night leg cramps?
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of? Read! Like @kmtz89, I struggle with maintaining the attention to do so. I’m getting through the baby books though, slowly but surely
@lovelylittlebump, we want to do a newborn shoot over pregnancy shoot! My husband is taking the pregnancy shots weekly and while they are not glamorous, that’s good enough for me. But the newborn phase is so precious and goes by quick! I hope we can fund it.
@jaclyn-ak, we’ve gone back and forth on baby moon. We got time off for Indigenous Peoples Day weekend, but apparently everyone is flying then and tickets are out of control. We think we will go to AZ for warm weather and to visit a close friend, a trip that would be a lot harder with a baby (so in babymoon spirit), but much more affordable than a resort or something.
How are you feeling?: work is so much more draining while pregnant, but other than that, feeling good with the occasional motion sickness when in the car.
Rave: It’s Cider Season!!!! I had my first cider and donuts last weekend and it was everything I had been craving! I think I’m going to do a maternity shoot at one of the orchards in early October when the leaves are on full display.
Rant: lol it’s a mini rant, but this child thinks that anytime I’m sitting or lying, it’s party time. She recently moved up higher towards my belly button and I’m definitely feeling the change in space for my organs and her movements are getting more pronounced. I still have so many weeks to go and I am so scared of her energy levels combined with increasing size and strength. My bladder isn’t going to stand a chance!
GTKY: What do you wish you did more of?
Sleep!? I’ve been going to bed earlier between work and my middle of the night bathroom runs, but it still doesn’t feel like enough.
@strongishmom and @peekaboo716 thank you so so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💙💙💙 It can feel so frustrating and even though US and the Anatomy scan showed everything is great - I’d just like a little more day to day reassurance! That said, I’m relaxing and letting it go and just going to appreciate whatever movement I feel when it comes! Thanks again!
@fk18 oh the leg cramps are the WORST!! I havent gotten any yet so far but i did with my last two😵💫 i found it really helped if i could put my foot flat on the ground and stand up, forcing the calf muscle to stretch back out. It was always triggered by my sleeping curled up and then id stretch my legs. As long as i could keep my toes from pointing down (shortening the calf muscle) i could avoid/stop the cramps.
@jojosesame did they tell you where your placenta is placed? This time i didnt feel any of the little flutters that i felt with my first two so i asked at my anatomy scan and my placenta is on the front, starting at my belly button and to the right. Im feeling more movement now at 22+4 but i was also starting to wonder if i would ever feel movement. Hope you start feeling more soon!
@babywiik yes! I have an anterior placenta so I was prepared mentally for a bit of a delay but it still got to me! Incredibly - last night was the first time I really got the kicks and moves and without a doubt, I know it was him! Finally!!!
@jojosesame yay, how exciting! My anatomy scan also showed that my placenta is in the front left, but baby was moving around a TON, so hopefully I’ll be right behind you 😄
@fk18 I completely forgot about the leg cramps. I haven't had them yet but like @babywiik I had them with my first and it would happen the exact same way. Not fun, especially if I woke up because of heartburn and then stretched 😩
@kamays54 and @babywiik the worst part for me is that it is in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and such a shock!!! I was able to relieve it pretty quickly but I woke up basically out of breath from the terror hahah
