  • Why? Why do you think this poll is even necessary?  Yes, you should start hearing a heartbeat around 7 weeks.  So hopefully you'll get good news at your appointment and hear a heartbeat and everything will be developing fine.  But this poll is not going to tell you that.  I said "no" because I've never heard it because mine all died before I could get to that point.  That's not going to help you or your situation though and you probably didn't think about that before you created a poll.

  • generally not possible to hear a baby's heartbeat with a fetal doppler before 10-12 weeks of pregnancy.  If an internal ultrasound, probably.
  • If you look at my response history, you can see the type of responses I give, 'kindness' or otherwise.  You're right though, kindness is hard, especially in my shoes. But your poll could easily be answered by a google search, and other people's situations have no bearing on what you may/will experience.  And you didn't spend even a minute on this site responding to or offering kindness to anyone else before posting your self-serving poll.

  • Actually I did google. Most answers are no you can’t but I thought worth asking in case there are rare circumstances where people may have. I feel sorry for the way you go about life. Must be a sad existence. Wish you all the best and I won’t waste another ounce of time on someone like you. ✌🏻
  • I had an ultrasound done at 7 weeks and 3 days because of some concerns.
    A heartbeat was found :)
  • They don’t use a Doppler that early since baby is so small. An ultrasound at that gestational age is the only way to check for HB. With my first pregnancy I had an US at 7w3d and saw the HB. For my second pregnancy I didn’t have an US until 13 weeks so had no indication of viability (except symptoms/no period) until then. Hope that helps!
  • @Knottie1466455431 you did a Google search, got your answer yet still post of all thing a poll?  Odd

With internal ultrasound. Doctors do not use doppler until at least 11/12 weeks because you cannot pick it up with an external doppler.
  • I'm 10 weeks pregnant now
  • I haven’t had a provider even try to find the heartbeat at 8 weeks. I have found the heartbeat myself at 8 weeks with 2 of my pregnancies. I had a posterior placenta with those pregnancies which helps a lot.
You need to be patient and point the Doppler down towards your pelvis. The baby’s HB will be fast and your HB will be slower. You need to be able to distinguish between the two because you will definitely pick up your own HB.
