SCH - Subchorionic hematoma

Hi. 9w2d with my double rainbow and have a subchorionic hematoma (SCH). I’ve now been put on bed rest since it got a tiny bit bigger. My OB has me scheduled to do another u/s next week. Any advice or experiences from anyone? This has me all in my feels and very nervous since I’ve had 2 losses. Thank you. Would appreciate prayers if you’re the praying type, Ty!

Re: SCH - Subchorionic hematoma

  • I've had one since wk 5. Currently 10w. Was told could bleed off and on or not at all. I wasn't put on bed rest, just told to decrease activity. No vacuuming. No heavy exercise or lifting. Don't reach down into a top loading washing machine or up to high shelves. Pelvic rest. Elevate legs when able. Keep hydrated.

Nothing you can do but monitor and wait for it to resolve. Could heal itself or come out so might see clots. Was told to to ER if bleeding soaks 2 pads in an hour. I've had 3 US so far. All showed baby measuring correctly with strong heartbeat.

  • Same, I found out yesterday at the ER and was told to sit down. Currently, it’s tiny. My OB said not to worry will follow up with an u/s in 3 weeks
  • In a similar boat.  Just hit 11w, but it’s a mental game after a miscarriage to see bleeding and staying positive. I passed some large clots and for sure thought I was having another miscarriage but baby was healthy.  Mine is 4cm and hasn’t shrunk.  No activity it is tough because that is typically my stress relief.  Get nervous that every sneeze and cough is making it worse.

    Sending good vibes your way!
  • I have had 2 pregnancy with large ones. They kept telling me I was loosing baby as I bled a lot. Both those boys ended up over due and healthy!!!! Good luck!
