  • Ages (you and SO):  I’m 32 and he is 31

How many months have you been TTC?:
I have a genetic mutation that we don’t want pass down so we’re jumping straight to IVF

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: IVF (transfer date is Sept 10th) we used embryo donation.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I’m a respiratory therapist and my husband works for the government. We have three boys ages 2, 4, and almost 7 that I conceived without assistance. Upon learning that I’m a fragile X carrier though and the boys all had a 60% chance of having it we decided to adopt an embryo this time. As for hobbies I like to watch movies with my husband, be outside, play piano, do crafts with the kids, and obsessively search IVF tips. I’m scared that transfer is getting so close, it’s kind of a one shot thing for us.

  • @daisy0322 Welcome! My husband and I also adopted embryos! It’s nice to meet someone doing the same thing.
  • Newbie here, looking forward to connecting, learning, and being inspired by you all!

    I'm 38 year's old, my partner is 36.

We've been doing IVF for over a year; currently going thru another stim cycle and attempting our 4th transfer in November. First three (5 embryos total) didn't take, but we are working with a new doctor and still have hope.

    IVF is our only option.

My partner was in a horrific car accident in his late 20s (teen driver blew past a stop sign and pummeled him on his motorcycle) After many surgeries and a lot of physical therapy, he is able to walk again, but lost the ability to have kids. We are so lucky that his ER doctor was a quick thinker; he saw his age when he came in and immediately saved all he could on the off chance that we did want kids some day. We have 4 vials left.

I teach people how to write a specific computer code language on my YouTube channel (random career, right?!) and my partner is a paramedic. That horrific accident inspired him to help as many people as he can; I'm so proud of him!!!

We have a dog, a cat, and a few chickens who are just about ready to lay their first eggs. We both love the outdoors and go camping often. I also love to play in the kitchen (baking and cooking) and I can't wait to make adorable school lunches some day.
  • Hi all! My husband and I are on the path to trying for our 2nd baby and are very excited. We had a tough go of it the first time around with some complications and issues that we never knew about previously. That being said, I have started up an online blog to help other mama's to be out there to know what to look for on your journey and things to be aware of. I hope this can help atleast one person and would love any feedback. Please be kind though as I'm brand new to sharing myself and my thoughts like this! https://thenittygrittymama.com/
  • Welcome to both of you! I hope your time here is short, best of luck.
