3 weeks behind what my LMP due date should be

I went and had a dating ultrasound. According to my LMP I should be 9 weeks, baby was only measuring just 6 weeks. If I go back and look we did have sex around that time. 
Has this happened to anyone else? They didn’t even give me a due date at that ultrasound, just told me I was too early to tell.

    Hasn’t happened to me but it’s common if you have irregular periods! If you are measuring 6 weeks pregnant it means you conceived 4 weeks ago since the first two weeks you aren’t really pregnant yet.

    Hi! This is common if you ovulated late. For example, my last missed period is 4/27 but I track my cycles and know I didn’t ovulate until day 31 the month I conceived. So I’m about 3 weeks “behind” as well. I was lucky enough to know before going to the doc when I ovulated so when they told me I was behind I showed them my chart and it made sense. 

    You probably just ovulated late like me. It happens. I’m 10 weeks now and all is good with baby so far! Again, it doesn’t mean you are behind in development - it’s likely that your body just took longer to release the egg that month. Hope this helps!

    Hi, I had this happen in my secomd pregnancy and they wouldn't tell me at the ultrasound, but it was a missed miscarriage. Sometimes things just grow differently, but I would speak to your doctor to review the results as soon as you are able.
